DeLisa , thank you so much for joining us. You are such a positive person and it’s something we really admire and so we wanted to start by asking you where you think your optimism comes from?

My optimismcomes from so many experiences that I have had in my Nursing Career.
Mainly watching my surgical patients over the years Many of them my cancer patients. I watch and learn for each patient. I see how they have taken a diagnosis and made it be not a death sentence but a wake up call to Live.

It has had such an impact on my life. I have made an conscious effort to live my life to the fullest and have an
Impact others to do the same.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

The first is perseverance. From abound age this is a quality that I embraced. I just kept going toward my goal knowing that things would get better if I just kept going along.
When the going got tough I just kept going.

Dance, having professional dance in my life and learning the steps and having discipline to practice and complete choreography for the performance. I learned as much as I could in dance has been super helpful in creating the foundation of my life.
A third quality that I have is having a high self esteem that was instilled in.me at.a young age.by my mother and father and sisters.
I was praised.for just being myself and I was told that I could do be or have what ever I desired . I believed it This kept.me.going through many difficult times in my life. My self worth and belif in myself .

Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?

I actually was implementing the strategies given in this book for a while.
It is The Secret by Rhonda Bryne
I saw the panel of Authors on the Oprah Whinfrey Show one day and I liked what I heard..
It was about the Law.of Attraction. That our thoughts become things. What your energy is that you put out is what is returned to you.
This is a way of life that I have adopted and has beem working for me since I bought the book in 2006
