We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Chaitin Maycott. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Chaitin below.
Hi Chaitin , so excited to talk about all sorts of important topics with you today. The first one we want to jump into is about being the only one in the room – for some that’s being the only person of color or the only non-native English speaker or the only non-MBA, etc Can you talk to us about how you have managed to be successful even when you were the only one in the room that looked like you?
I’ve learned to focus on what unites us as people and to approach each interaction with openness and a willingness to connect. By stepping up, introducing myself, and finding common ground, I can build relationships that are mutually supportive. We all have needs and goals, and I try to help others reach theirs—either directly or by connecting them with people I trust. At the end of the day, we’re all part of the same team, and anyone who doesn’t share that perspective may not be someone to bring along on the journey.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
Demolition Marketing Leads specializes in generating high-quality, targeted leads for the demolition industry. With a team of experts and a proven track record, we help demolition businesses thrive by transforming their marketing strategies and connecting them with the right clients be it public, private, or governmental.
It all started for me in 2019 when I discovered the hidden gem of demolition marketing. My team and I developed a strategic plan using search engine optimization, digital presence enhancement, and targeted marketing to drive traffic and most importantly demolition deals, helping demo companies scale by millions in extra annual revenue.
I first entered the marketing world in 2017, working with various businesses—doctors, lawyers, hair salons—any company that needed help driving traffic to make an ROI. I quickly realized that many business owners expected immediate results, not understanding that their businesses needed time to mature for financial success. In 2019, I took on my first demolition client and found an industry that truly valued OUR services. Since then, my team and I have grown leaps and bounds while working with some of the largest demolition brands across the country, helping them generate at least $3 million extra in annual revenue, with that number continuing to scale year after year.
I earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication with a minor in Marketing from Kennesaw State University, and I’m a certified Google Partner with an Inbound Certification from HubSpot Academy. In 2023, I launched Demolition Success Secrets, a podcast where we share strategies to help demolition companies generate millions in additional revenue through conversations with industry-leading executives.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Being bold means going against the grain and sticking with it until things turn in your favor. Don’t be afraid to take calculated risks and push boundaries, especially when you’re just starting out. Staying accessible is about connecting with others, talking openly, and taking on opportunities—even small ones—that allow you to prove your worth. This not only builds credibility with others but helps you build confidence in yourself. Persistence—simply showing up—is what’s kept me going. Success rarely happens overnight; it’s about continuing to knock on doors and be present, even when the rewards aren’t immediate. Over time, others will start to see the value you bring, especially those who understand the power of tenacity.
For those early in their journey, I’d advise staying motivated and looking to examples of people who overcame challenges. Today, the internet has leveled the playing field, making resources and connections more accessible than ever. Many who faced far greater obstacles have still managed to accomplish incredible things. Remind yourself that with consistent effort and a positive mindset, you have more advantages than ever before. Keep your head up, stay engaged, and know that your persistence will pay off.
Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
One book that has been especially impactful for me is It’s a Jungle in There by Steven Schussler. Schussler emphasizes the importance of standing out in the marketplace—he shares that you must consistently make yourself known, or risk being overlooked and undervalued. Through memorable, sometimes outrageous stories, he illustrates how he’s used unique PR tactics to secure jobs, contracts, and visibility.
Schussler is also upfront about the risks involved in pursuing success, including the possibility of losing everything—a reality he faced and learned from. His honesty about the highs and lows of being an entrepreneur in today’s fast-paced world really resonates with me. Finally, I value how he shares practical strategies drawn from his own experiences, showing that success often requires resilience, creativity, and a willingness to take bold risks. This book isn’t widely talked about, but it has provided invaluable insights that have deeply influenced my approach.
