We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kelsey Branch. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kelsey below.
Hi Kelsey , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
My work ethic comes from my parents, who taught me the value of discipline and perseverance. They always emphasized the importance of giving your best, no matter what. However, for me I’ve found hard work and work ethic aren’t just about putting in long hours—it’s about being reliable, staying curious, and taking pride in delivering quality results. I can also thank many of my chefs before me for my desired sense of staying the course and always keeping focused.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
My services primarily surround but are not limited to the private dining community of the greater Los Angeles area. I’ve found a lot of fulfillment in providing conscious, balanced meals to my clients on a consistent basis keeps me on my toes and almost forces me to be creative at all times and costs. In addition, I gain a lot of joy from teaching group and private classes. Typically, I can be found teaching with Ciao Evento, a NYC based party style pasta class company that has expanded to LA after such a positive response. Other times, I am teaching in house or online with private clients. This year I have been able to spend more time with an organization that means a lot to me and allows me to stay connected through a network of like-minded professional women in hospitality. RE:Her Food is a national non-profit organization committed to accelerating the growth of women-owned businesses in the food and beverage industry. The LA chapter has been incredibly wonderful to me and I can’t wait to further my connection in years to come. In the upcoming months, I hope to focus on expanding my product line, serving more clients and teaching as much as I can.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Attention to detail has been critical in ensuring consistency and precision in my cooking, especially when creating intricate dishes which has helped shape and develop my style today. Creativity has allowed me to experiment with flavors and presentation, curating my own unique ideas. Most importantly, connecting with people through food has made me more attune to my clients’ preferences, allowing me to deliver exceptional dining experiences.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I am always looking to expand my creative network with like-minded, driven, organized professionals. If you’d like to connect further with me, my services and email are listed on my website kelsey-foods.square.site for meal prep, private dining, seasonal products and private/group classes, along with my instagram https://www.instagram.com/ciaociaokelsey/
