Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Zhenya Bobrovnyk. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Zhenya , so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?
For as long as I can remember I have always been a positive child. Every problem, situation or challenge that I had to face was perceived by me as growth and development. I would like to share my life story, I moved to America to study when I was 17 years old. I was in a new city completely alone, at that time my parents were in Ukraine. I faced a big challenge when I realized that for the next two years I would be living in a dormitory with a roommate. I realized for myself that it would be difficult for me to morally adjust to the person and the rules by which the person is used to live. I decided for myself that I would look at this situation from the other side. I changed my thinking, I began to thank the universe for the opportunity to learn to be more independent and to take full responsibility for myself – it helped me to realize that it will not always be easy and the way you want. The road to a successful and happy life is through many obstacles, I like to call it Challenges that we have to go through and learn the main lessons afterwards. That’s what I call growth. For myself, I realized what an adult and independent life is because of this experience.
The advises I would like to give to a people who are in the beggining of their journey of optimism and happiness. Just be grateful for everything what you have and take everything lightly and with a smile, every problem in this world can be solved, take it as another element for growth and self development.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
My name is Zhenya. I am 19 years old and my zodiac sign is Leo:)
I was born in Ukraine in the beautiful city of Odessa.
Two years of my life I devoted to the theater, my first play in which I took part was “Frozen”. There I played little Anna and as many minor roles. At the age of 12, I went with the play “Frozen” in Germany for a month on tour. After my hard as well as fun tour I was invited to play in the second performance of “Sleeping Beauty”. We toured only in Ukraine, as well as we were invited to perform in the famous “Opera and Ballet Theater” in Odessa. After two years of work in the theater I realized that this is not what I want to do, I was drawn to the film industry. At the age of 17 I entered the film program at the American school “Idyllwild Arts Academy”. There I made my first short film with my friend, which went to the biggest high school film festival in America, the “All American High School Film Festival”. Our movie was shown on a big screen in Time Square.
After high school, I went to college “New York Film Academy” to study filmmaking. At this point in my career I’m concentrating on directing, producing and acting. I am also trying to study cinematography, which is one of the most difficult areas of filmmaking for me. In my free time I read, do sports such as tennis, crossfit and dancing. I like to play chess, I like modeling, and I also like to learn new languages, my goal is to speak in (Spanish, Italian and French). At this period of my life I can say that I want to develop my skills in directing, in my plans to shoot a big production, more than my previous ones. As for my hobbies, I plan to be a mentor and create my own community of girls who are on their way to selflove.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Three most important qualities of knowledge for me are :
1. Self-love, I think it’s one of the most important factors in your life. Don’t be hard on yourself, love yourself and what you are doing in every step of your life, you are the only one, no one will take care of you like you take care of yourself. Don’t be picky about yourself and everything you do or go through.
2. Reading. Books can give people answers to all of their questions. Reading is very important, especially in my industry. It develops your imagination and vocabulary. I spend at least 30 minutes a day reading every day.
3. Communication. In my opinion is one of the most impotant qualities that we all have to develop. To know how to communicate with people can give you a lot of oportunities and connetions.
Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
My parents are people I admire every day. They instilled in me the habits that many people try to instill in themselves nowadays, such as regular sports, reading and self-development. Without these three habits I can’t go about my day, I don’t have to remember that on Monday I have to go to the gym and then read 50 pages of a book, that’s my Lifestyle that I can’t go about my day without.
They support me in every area of my life. They’ve never taken away from me what I want or what I want to do in my life.
I am grateful that my parents taught me to be a good person. Help people when they need help or not, spread love and kindness to this world.
