We were lucky to catch up with Ceren Gokalp recently and have shared our conversation below.
Ceren, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
My work ethic comes from my upbringing and my love for creativity and entrepreneurship. Growing up in my home country, I saw my family work hard to build their jewellery business and achieve their goals over 40 years. Watching them create beautiful pieces and gain appreciation from their clients taught me the value of staying dedicated and focused to create something meaningful and special.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My name is Ceren, and I’m the founder of Eudora London Jewellery in the UK. I’ve always been passionate about continuing my family’s legacy in jewellery design and craftsmanship. Our story started in Turkey in the 1980s with my grandmother, Iclal Bagatir, whose vision and dedication built a foundation that has thrived for over 40 years.
My mother, Meltem Gundogdu, carried this tradition forward, working with talented artisans across Turkey to create unique designs known for their quality and artistry. With her guidance, I launched Eudora London in the UK as the next chapter of our family’s journey.
Since moving to London in 2016 with my husband, I’ve worked in different management roles, which helped me develop essential skills and a better understanding of how businesses work. During this time, I often received compliments on the jewellery I wore—pieces made by my family. Those moments reminded me of my dream to carry on our family’s legacy and inspired me to start my own creative business.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, I’d say the three most important qualities in my journey have been resilience, creativity, and a strong understanding of craftsmanship.
Resilience has been key because every business faces challenges. Being able to adapt, keep going, and learn from setbacks is essential. My advice to anyone starting out is to see challenges as opportunities to grow and not to get discouraged by obstacles.
Creativity has always been at the heart of Eudora London. It helps us design unique pieces, stay ahead of trends, and maintain our brand’s identity. I believe nurturing creativity means staying open to new ideas, finding inspiration from different sources, and being willing to try new things.
Finally, craftsmanship and a deep understanding of quality have been crucial in ensuring that every piece we make reflects our family’s commitment to excellence.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
After deciding to continue my family’s business abroad, my mother, Meltem, became my greatest source of guidance. With her decades of experience in the jewellery industry, she used her connections to help secure our future. She introduced me to talented artisans and took me to visit workshops in the heart of Istanbul’s historic bazaar. Her strong relationships with skilled craftspeople made these visits both exciting and inspiring for me.
My husband, Emre, has also been key in making this dream a reality. He supported me through every decision and encouraged me to keep moving forward, truly believing in the success and potential of the business.
I’m incredibly grateful for the support and belief my mother and husband have shown me throughout this journey
