We recently connected with Stephania Saint Pierre and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Stephania , we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
This is actually a really great question because it is at the heart of the message that I speak to women about. Ironically enough I’ve battled with low self esteem, confidence and self doubt from the time I was a little girl. In my early childhood development although my father was in the home and provided for the family he wasn’t present emotionally and mentally in my life to create a true father-daughter bond . As a result of a lack of father’s love and affirmation and also being molested by a close family friend I couldn’t clearly see myself for who I was at my core. So naturally that created insecurities , low self worth and low self esteem deep down within me. I had a really poor view of myself and struggled to see my worth because I felt unworthy due to those painful experiences.
The moment I finally overcame low self esteem was when I was honest enough to acknowledge the pain I’ve been suppressing through varies harmful habits for years. My faith in the lord Jesus Christ has helped me to see myself through God’s eyes and not my trauma. From that moment on my perspective changed, the way I saw myself changed. this happened gradually overtime as I continued to do the work on myself through prayer , therapy , journaling and various self care routines.
I continue to develop my confidence and self esteem daily through showing up and doing the things that are scary at first ( like starting a YouTube channel, building a brand, Etc ) with every bold step of faith I take that simultaneously increases my confidence overtime.
It’s also safe to say we’re all continually growing in different areas of life and in my personal opinion none of us will ever fully arrive. With that in mind I authentically share my journey where I’m at the moment , the things I’m learning while leaving room for mistakes along the way. For me the true test of boldness is being self aware enough to evaluate your own mistakes and shortcomings , taking accountability and learning to implement lessons learned to make better future decisions. Not being a victim or blaming everyone else for what’s happening in your life but taking control over your own decision making. I’m not the same person I was 5 years ago and I plan to continue to evolve within the next 5 years which I believe is a major part of life.
once I’ve taken accountability and learned from a few mistakes and use those same mistakes as lessons on what I can improve and actually do the necessary work on myself to improve that also increases my self confidence and esteem on a whole other level.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Great thank you. Presently I am a faith base author, entrepreneur and freelance creative. What’s most exciting about what I do is being able to create content from the heart. I enjoy shooting videos , editing and also writing. What I love most about what I do is having the freedom of self expression through my work. I wasn’t always able to express myself as a child so the work that I do now gives that little girl inside of me a voice and permission to freely be who she is. So I guess you can say my passion and love for speaking to women feels like I’m nurturing her all over again and that’s the most rewarding experience of it all.
As of right now I actively upload videos on my YouTube channel, you can look out for new weekly uploads twice a week.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The three most important qualities that were most impactful in my journey has been ; Faith , Resilience & Humility .
This journey comes with highs and lows. Highs being when people are impacted by your work that in return cause a positive change in their life’s. Lows being the moments you may have to take a step back and rebrand, low or even no income in the beginning, and dealing with negative criticism. In those moments I think it takes true resilience to rise above unfortunate circumstances and still remain focused on the goal. It also takes true humility to say “I don’t have it all figured out, I need help “ and actually being open to seek knowledge from those who are in your same field or may inspire you on any level.
I’ve had to learn that being prideful gets you nowhere in reality it actually keeps you from learning. Faith , Resilience and humility are all apart of the process but you have to be committed enough to weather the storms. One way of doing that is by putting your faith and trust in God , humbling yourself before him to ask for his help because he will lead and guide you in those moments you feel lost and confused.
And remember when you get knocked down or an idea doesn’t go as planned don’t be afraid to get back up , try and try again. You can’t learn unless you actually try and fail. Don’t let failure keep you from trying. Take a step back , Learn from your mistakes and implement what you’ve learned the next go around.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
The most impactful thing my parents did for me was bringing me to the United States from my original birthplace -Haiti. Although they weren’t perfect and could’ve done something’s differently , I can acknowledge and appreciate the sacrifices they made to give me a better life with more opportunities, safety and a higher quality of life. I’m forever grateful for that, and because of that it has allowed me to impact the many lives I do.
