Meet Jennifer Elizabeth

We were lucky to catch up with Jennifer Elizabeth recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Jennifer, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

During my youth, whether times were difficult or going well I found that I always took joy in both listening to and performing music. It became a way for me to celebrate and enjoy the highs just as much as a coping mechanism to get through the lows. As I grew and progressed on to college and beyond, music was always there as a companion when I needed to a pick-me-up, and the thought of recording or performing would serve as the “light at the end of the tunnel”; giving me something to look forward to. While times haven’t always been easy, I truly feel that I am blessed to be able to express myself through music, and to have the opportunities that I have been able to take part in.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I currently work at Beech Acres Parenting Center, where I’m deeply involved in supporting families and helping create positive, lasting impacts within our community. Outside of my professional role, I’m a proud wife and mother of two, living in Franklin, Ohio. Family is at the heart of everything I do, and it’s a big part of what drives me in both my personal and professional life.
In addition to my work, I’ve always had a deep passion for music—specifically country music. I’ve been playing the cello for many years and have recently started learning the guitar, which has opened up new creative possibilities for my sound. I’m focused on creating music with a style reminiscent of artists like Jo Dee Messina and Reba McEntire—strong, heartfelt songs with a bit of country grit and storytelling.
So far, I’ve recorded four songs, which are available on all streaming platforms. “Hold On” and “One of the Strong Ones” are both out now, and I’m excited to share that my new single, “Blessed,” will be releasing on Thanksgiving Day. Shortly after that, I’ll be dropping “Quiet Little Country Town” on December 26th. Each song reflects a piece of my journey, and I’m looking forward to expanding my recorded works as I continue to grow as an artist.
As I work to expand my reach, I’m also exploring opportunities to connect with new audiences, perform live, and collaborate with other musicians. The future is bright, and I’m thrilled about what’s to come as I continue to share my music and my story.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I can key into the behaviors that have gotten me to where I am as Perseverance, Self-Awareness, and Courage.

Perseverance to continue to chase your goals, dreams, and aspirations. Everyone will experience set backs, whether familial, situational, financial, or simply rejection. Perseverance to find a functional way to soldier on, continue to chase what gives you a sense of fulfillment, and to enjoy what you are doing even in the face of adversity is crucial to achieving your dreams.

Self awareness is critical to be true to yourself, and to enjoy and perform the type of music that truly calls to you; not just what may be popular at the moment. You’ll never perform as well when working on a song you don’t truly enjoy – focus on what speaks to you, what songs you could play on repeat, and you’ll find some of your most enjoyable and best work results.

Courage to put yourself out there and try. Courage to try and fail, then pull yourself up and try again. The road to any goal is rarely straight and easy. Most aspirations will involve setbacks, will need you to put yourself out there in front of others, and will take exploring new connections and ideas. All of these require courage to put your best self out there, to continue push your own limits, and to step outside of your comfort zone.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

I would absolutely love the opportunity to collaborate with artists exploring a similar space of country music to me! This isn’t something I’ve yet to have the occasion to do, though the prospect of it would certainly be exciting and a new experience that I would treasure! If someone were interested in working together, I’d encourage them to reach out through my website (https://jenniferelizabeth.club/jenniferelizabethmusic) or through any of my socials found there.
