Meet Sanaz Noori

We were lucky to catch up with Sanaz Noori recently and have shared our conversation below.

Sanaz, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

I was born in Iran after revolution. Life has been so hard under Islamic republic specially for women. As a woman when you want to be yourself you should be so strong and fight with society and system. It was not easy for me as well! I had a dream to be an artist and work as an artist. I think moving to USA was a turning point to be myself. Although took years for me to stand up for myself and let my dream come through. But, in this path I cannot say I was alone. My husband was the one who support me and even sometimes pushed me to build up my self-esteem.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I was born in the bustling city of Tehran, Iran, where I spent my formative years surrounded by the rich cultural tapestry of my homeland. From the very beginning I knew what I want to be, “An artist”. My parents didn’t think that way, so because of that I never got into art school! I got my Bachelor of Information and communication science and started to work at Tehran University. But I’ve never given up on drawing and painting. On age of 28, I embarked on a life-changing journey to the United States, carrying with me the dreams and aspirations that would shape my future. I got married to the love of my life in US. While I was building up my family and carrier I’ve been continuing to explore my art world. As a matter of fact, a few years after moving to US I figured it I’m in love with Pastel techniques. So, I put all my effort into getting stronger as a pastel artist. Although I worked in different positions, my dream of owning an art studio and gallery grew and grew. Today, as the proud owner of Noor Studio and Gallery, I stand as a testament to the power of perseverance and hard work. my love for drawing and painting has always been a central part of my identity. I believe that true fulfillment as an artist lies in sharing one’s creations with others and imparting knowledge to fellow art enthusiasts. The joy of connecting with people through art is unparalleled. Noor Studio and Gallery is not just a physical space; it’s a testament to the transformative power of art. I always call Noor “a meeting point of art lovers”. When I was building Noor with my husband’s support, I was thinking to have a place which fit most people’s attention to art. In Noor you can find an elegant showroom with verity of art collection, also you can get trained as an artist through different techniques painting classes and workshops, finally you can have group events while you are enjoying hanging out with group you can unleash your artistic side. My dream is now a vibrant reality.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I think the most important thing is I’ve never given up! No matter how hard you think it would be to make your dream real. The next important thing is exploring and experimenting. just be brave and try something that you think you enjoy it, or you have talent for that. trying helps you learn from your mistake and makes you get stronger in your skills. Third important thing is having passion for your work or whatever you believe you will be in the future. Also, having goal makes you getting more motivated.
My advice would be for parents. Just let your kids to be happy in their lives. Don’t ignore their talents or passions about something. Support them to strengthen their abilities.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?

I think my biggest supporter is my husband. although he has no idea about art but, he always supported me in any aspect of my life. I’m so thankful for him.
