We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Valentine Lovecraft Falcon a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Valentine Lovecraft, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I have not landed on one purpose although I have suffered a great deal thinking I should have and that something was possibly wrong with me because I didn’t.
I prefer the phrase “a calling” because understanding what’s calling me forth and then taking action in said direction has created a fullfilling the purpose of the “calling”.
It’s more dynamic and mysterious, I haven’t “found” anything and landed.
I have had swaths of time in full filing a callings purpose. For example 13 years in a band, 8 years in a business, 12 years on a personal healing journey. Yet it can be more subtle and simpler than that as well. I have fulfilled my purpose many times by saying things I felt “called” to say even though there may have been fear and trepidation involved. I have received feedback from these recipients that those words have had life changing outcomes.
The “calling” can also look like a contraction such as things falling away, having less, no where to go, nothing to do. Silence, no money, no one interested in the “I” I’m projecting in the world. These times I must use what I have, work with what is, innovate, summon, create.
Work with the “mother” of invention, necessity.
I wanted to speak to this question because purpose in our culture often aligns with career, title, money etc. As I spend more time in nature I see our spirit moving through life more organically.
The soul/spirit has a directive and design. The apple seed has a blueprint as does our soul yet it may not always orchestrate or grow in the timing and constructs of society and culture.
What our mind wants to find as purpose may not even exist yet-I believe our souls know this. We may be creators for something in the future. Whose time has not yet arrived.
The “calling” prepares the soul for what lies ahead for what it will need as sustenance, strength, vibrational capacity, vision. It’s non linear ever unfolding and puts me into a mode of listening with “quantum” ears.
What is beckoning me unceasing, what I’m afraid of, what am I curious about, what am I obsessed with, what is challenging me and I want to give up yet I know to give up is to lose a potential gift? These are the qualities of a calling. This is how i fulfill the ever unfolding purpose of the calling.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am fortunate to have a very multi-faceted dynamic lifestyle and business(s) that reflect all of what I and my husband love to do.
Our business is called Born Free Natural Mystic and it truly encompasses the essence of who we are and our various endeavors.
We sell, teach, create, and offer healing services and support from this “portal”.
I also have my own business which is called Imaginal Realms. This is where I offer Oracle Medicine Sessions and one of one spiritual counsel for people.
I do psilocybin facilitated sits here on the property, I teach Amanita Muscaria courses, and make products for our business.
I overcame some very big hurdles in my life such as sexual abuse, alcoholism, and psychical health issues all through working with various healing modalities and psychedelic medicines. This is my way of giving back.
My husband is a very active mushroom forager he supplies to various chefs here on the coast. I help him hunt and gather and we also love to partake in the mushrooms in ourselves.
I am a impassioned advocate and voice for the under utilized and often dismissed aspect of our human design- the imagination and our imaginal realms. Hence why I named my business Imaginal Realms. The imagination is not only for the mystical or the “believers” it is as imperative to our life and our thriving as is physical health.
Collectively people are becoming aware of their Imagination as a power via Law of Attraction and “manifestation”. Yet this power goes far beyond manipulating the 3d realm to create external form, it is literally our access tool to the interface of the infinite source field and the activation of our multidimensional capabilities. We are always working with our imagination and power of creatorship whether we are conscious of this or not. The other reason to reclaim our imagination is that our creator ship and imagination is also being manipulated by those aware of it’s power.
It is my opinion and experience that the majority of people dismiss their visions as “frivolous” or impractical and yet the dismissal of this potent vision is a great deal why people are sick, depressed, suffering, longing, addicted and disconnected from the Earth, Creator and their soul “seed” blueprint.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
As I just mentioned I think one of the most important gifts and tools we can give to ourselves is the understanding of how our imagination works. Most everything besides what is the natural world was birthed from imagination-literally everything.
It will not be taught in ordinary schools one has to decide to trust that it is an essential life tool and strike out to learn as much as possible. Even asking the question aloud or from the heart “what is imagination, and how do I utilize the power of my imagination” will activate the source field to bring answers.
Intuition is another essential. Imagination activates intuition and intuition activates and utilizes our “heart brain”. When people say “follow your heart” it’s not the physical one that’s actually being referenced it’s the quantum heart intelligence. This heart (and gut) intelligence is also intuition it is what all ancient people knew about before “modern” science to lead, guide, educate, inform.
People now put all their faith in science as God and truth yet science originated from direct transmissions of information that came first from the cosmos then was put to application and trial and later proved as truth. Much of our technology first came from following intuition, imaginal visions and then applying the wisdom.
Intuition is a super power-and it’s part of our human design.
Third imperative quality is our will. The will is a great Allie and if the physical health of the gut is not compromised (sadly most people’s are) we get to utilize both the physical and non physical aspect of the will known as the solar plexus. The physical attributes of gut power translates into will. If you do core exercise you will amplify your will. Strong will keeps you going, it is our internal coach encouraging us to keep going so we can experience the fruits of our labors.
Trusting our will and preserving to receive the gifts of it’s power allows you to embody generates personal value and self worth. Will gives you the reason to truly revere and love yourself because doing something that tests your will and persevering taps you into the wonders of why our human design is a magic.
I think all of these qualities are greatly needed at this time. We are living in a time of collective mental and physical illness. People’s view of themselves and humanity as a whole weighs more in the direction of disdain and despair then wonder and awe,
I hold the vision of wonder and awe for humanity because I believe we are created in the likeness of Creator and that is valuable belief to exemplify and model for others.
Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
In this case it’s not a “who” but a what. What has been most helpful for me in overcoming challenges is mediation and entheogens/psychedelic medicines. Not necessarily at the same time:)
There’s this famous coach named Steve Hardison and his whole shtick is it’s not about what you’re doing in life it’s who you are being. Who do you need to “be” to have {fill in desired outcome}.
Mediation & entheogens allow me to loosen my grip on identity and form. Both support me in gaining insights into the nature of what may feel like an obstacle or problem. With these insights I can thereby make internal or external changes to become who I need to be for whatever it is that is requiring my participation and excellence.
