Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Stacy Williams. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Stacy , we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
I’ve always been an outspoken, outgoing person with a big personality. However, there have been many times when the confidence I projected didn’t match how I truly felt inside. Even now, I sometimes struggle with feeling as good as I appear. When this happens, I remind myself that any negative thoughts I have about myself are not facts. While I believe it’s important to honor my feelings, I also know it’s crucial not to let the negative ones define me. In moments of low confidence, I turn to prayer, affirmations, motivational podcasts, and inspirational music to lift my spirits. I’ve also learned to embrace being a beginner and not expect perfection right away. Stepping into uncomfortable situations has become a way for me to grow, building confidence from within.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I recently transitioned into my second role in the EdTech space as a Customer Success Manager, after spending seven years in education. While I do miss being in the classroom, I’m still able to make a meaningful impact on students’ lives through the products offered by my company. In my role, I support school districts and campuses with onboarding, implementation, and provide ongoing assistance to ensure they get the most out of our products. What I love most about this position is that it allows me to do what I enjoy most—connecting with others and helping them succeed. Additionally, my new team is absolutely amazing, and I truly feel like I’ve found the perfect fit.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The qualities that have been most impactful on my journey into EdTech include my willingness to put in the effort, my faith, and my ability to overcome fear. I took proactive steps by reaching out to Deborah Gomez at Resumes That Sell You and using platforms like LinkedIn and TikTok to research transitional roles for educators. Another key quality has been my faith and trust that what is meant for me will come, no matter how many “no’s” I face. I believe that while things may be delayed, they are never denied. Lastly, not letting fear hold me back has been essential. If I hadn’t taken a chance on myself with confidence, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Despite the fear and uncertainty, new opportunities push me to grow.

What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
Over the past 12 months, my greatest area of growth has been learning to trust myself and the decisions I make, without letting others’ negative opinions affect me. This shift has allowed me to stay true to who I am and prioritize my happiness. As a recovering people-pleaser, I’ve also grown more comfortable having difficult conversations. I’ve come to understand that speaking up for myself and advocating for my needs isn’t “mean”—it’s a form of self-respect. Disagreeing with others can still be done respectfully. This year, I’ve embraced who I am more fully, and I’m proud of the woman I am becoming.
