Meet Melanie Holbrook

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Melanie Holbrook. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Melanie , thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.

Ah, imposter syndrome! One of the biggest things that will hold people back from achieving their goals. Imposter syndrome was something I dealt with in the beginning of my entrepreneurial journey, as I questioned if I was really capable of running my own business.

My business coach had hosted a workshop around imposter syndrome where I learned more about this limiting belief. And that quite literally every entrepreneur has experienced imposter syndrome in some capacity or another. Everyone has questioned themselves and their ability to do something. Everyone has asked questioned if they are worthy of charging whatever amount for whatever task. And when I learned this, I realized that the most successful businesses and services wouldn’t exist if their founders had succumbed to imposter syndrome.

Would I let this hold me back from reaching my goals and dreams? I had to tune into my worth and really hone in on why I wanted this and how capable I am of doing it. I knew I could run my own business and I wanted to run my own business. So not overcoming imposter syndrome wasn’t an option.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I am the owner of the travel and wellness blog, I Very Much Love It Here. My brand is all about exploring the world and exploring your inner self, so that you can create a life that you very much love. The majority of my business is currently centered around travel, as my blog offers extensive resources for international travel. I also offer custom itinerary planning and travel agent services, where I’ll organize trips from start to finish or anywhere in between. I’ve been fortunate to travel to 24 countries and counting so I’m able to utilize my experience along with my travel network to plan incredible trips and provide amazing and unique recommendations.

I recently completed my holistic health coaching certification with an emphasis in gut and hormone health, as well as my 200 hour yoga teacher certification. With these certifications I’ll soon be launching my holistic health coaching program to amplify my mission of helping others live a life that they very much love. This program will approach health from a mind, body, spirit lens and integrate the philosophies of yoga.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

My areas of knowledge in marketing, social media and SEO have been seriously impactful in order to run a successful travel blog and business. I think these three components are incredibly invaluable when it. comes to running any kind of online business. My entire career before my entrepreneurial journey centered around marketing, where I learned skills like email marketing, copywriting, and brand marketing. I’ve also purchased courses on SEO and social media that have helped propel my business forward. My advice is to invest in developing certain skillsets that will benefit your career and/or business. Taking courses, getting certifications, and learning as much as you can is imperative and will help move your forward in every aspect of your life.

Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?

In the past 12 months I set out to complete multiple certifications that would help me grow personally and professionally and improve my overall wellbeing. Completing my health coaching certification allowed me to become a student again, absorbing endless information about our bodies and health, from both scientific and spiritual lenses. Completing my yoga teaching certification expanded my mindset and challenged me in ways I hadn’t done before.

One more noteworthy area of growth was the decision to remove alcohol from my life in November 2023. Since then I’ve never felt more clear-headed and my energy levels have improved drastically. 2024 has been the most transformative year of my life and I attribute being alcohol-free as a huge factor in this success.
