We recently connected with Ashley Hunter and have shared our conversation below.
Ashley, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
I truly draw my resilience from the incredible example set by my mother, Linda Hunter. She was one of the strongest women I have ever known, facing life with an unwavering courage and determination that deeply inspired me. From an early age, she instilled in me the belief that I could exceed my own expectations and break through the limitations that life sometimes imposes. Her guiding lessons taught me to give my all to whatever goals I set, honoring the journey as much as the destination.
My mother was not only a scholar and a dedicated teacher, but she also possessed the heart of a nurturer and the wisdom of a true friend. She had an extraordinary ability to lift the spirits of those around her, creating a safe space where everyone felt valued and understood. Even though she passed away in November 2015, the profound impact she had on my life continues to resonate within me.
Not a day goes by that I don’t reflect on the invaluable lessons she imparted—lessons of courage, strength, and resilience. I strive to embody her teachings in every facet of my life, navigating challenges with the same grace and tenacity she exemplified. In many ways, each step I take forward is a tribute to her legacy. I carry her spirit with me and honor her memory by embracing life’s challenges head-on, knowing that, in doing so, I am fulfilling the potential she always believed I possessed. She will always be my guiding light and an everlasting source of inspiration.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My story is one that many can relate to—the journey of a small-town girl with big dreams and aspirations. Growing up, I always believed that, no matter where you start, it’s your determination and grit that shape your path. I navigated my journey through a blend of education and real-world experience, mastering my craft one step at a time. Along the way, I faced my fair share of mishaps and tribulations, but I remained steadfast in my commitment to rise above my own limitations. I’m proud to say that I’m living my dreams today because I never gave up on myself, even when the journey felt challenging. I attribute my perseverance and strength to my unwavering faith; God has seen me through every hurdle.
Professionally, I am currently focused on expanding my company in the Metro/North Atlanta area and beyond. We are developing an exciting cheer program, which I believe has the potential to not only elevate young athletes but also bring communities together through the joy of cheerleading. One particular highlight is our partnership with the Cobb County Government, where our cheer program will be performing at the County’s annual Winter Wonderland event this December 2024. This is a fantastic opportunity for us to gain additional exposure and show the community what we stand for—passion, teamwork, and dedication.
What excites me most about this venture is not just the growth of our company, but the impact we’re making in the lives of young individuals. Each cheerleader we mentor represents not only skill development but also character building and personal growth. We are cultivating an environment where young people can find their voices, build their confidence, and develop lifelong friendships.
As we move forward, I’m eager to explore new events, workshops, and community outreach programs that foster collaboration and engagement. Our brand stands for empowerment, resilience, and the belief that every individual has the potential to excel. I am thrilled about the opportunities that lie ahead and am deeply grateful for the support we continue to receive. Together, we’re not just creating cheerleaders—we’re nurturing leaders of tomorrow.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Reflecting on my journey, I can confidently say that my personal experiences in my field have shaped the knowledge and skills that have propelled my career forward. Here are the three most important qualities that have guided me along the way:
Patience: Patience has been a cornerstone of my growth, allowing me to understand that success is rarely instant. Every endeavor comes with its own set of challenges, requiring a diligent process that unfolds over time. I’ve learned that true progress demands continuous effort and the ability to embrace the journey, even when immediate results seem elusive. This quality shapes how I approach both my professional and personal life, reminding me to stay committed to my goals and to trust in the process.
Passion: My passion for what I do has been my anchor, keeping me grounded in my “why.” Loving what you do is the fuel that drives you to overcome obstacles and celebrates the highs and lows of the entrepreneurial journey. It inspires me to push through difficult moments, knowing that my work serves a greater purpose beyond mere personal validation. This unwavering enthusiasm not only motivates me but also resonates with my team and those we serve, creating a positive ripple effect throughout our community.
Continuous Education: Education in my field has been pivotal. I believe in the importance of staying informed and continuously learning to remain adaptable and relevant. Understanding the nuances of your industry equips you to make informed decisions and seize opportunities as they arise. My journey has taught me that knowledge is power, and investing in your education—whether through formal training, mentorship, or self-study—enables you to build a solid foundation for your growth.
Advice to Aspiring Entrepreneurs:
To those embarking on their own entrepreneurial journeys, my advice is to invest in education tailored to your field of expertise. Patience is key; remember that building a successful business is a marathon, not a sprint. Understand that progress will take time and that nothing happens overnight. Trust the process and embrace each lesson along the way. Most importantly, cultivate a love for what you do. Your passion will sustain you through the challenges, and when you truly enjoy the journey, life itself becomes an extraordinary adventure. Enjoy every moment!

The most profound and transformative gift my parents ever bestowed upon me was their unwavering commitment to truth. While they allowed me to revel in the joys of childhood, they made it clear that the world around me was complex and often harsh. They didn’t shield me from reality; instead, they confronted it with honesty and strength, ensuring that I understood the nuances of life from an early age.
Their willingness to speak candidly about life’s challenges and hardships laid the groundwork for my resilience. They equipped me with tools far more valuable than any material possessions—tools of critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and an unshakeable moral compass. They taught me how to navigate difficulties with grace and determination, instilling in me a sense of responsibility to seek truth, both within myself and in the world.
Because of their wisdom, I learned that success isn’t just about personal achievement; it’s about serving a greater purpose and contributing positively to others’ lives. Their guidance inspired me to embrace my dreams with passion and integrity. I carry their lessons with me, and I am eternally grateful for the strength and clarity they provided. Their legacy lives on in me, motivating me to share the same honesty and empowerment with those I encounter, ensuring that their profound impact continues to ripple through the lives of others.
