Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Latricia Trice. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Latricia, thank you so much for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re really interested in hearing about from you – being the only one in the room. So many of us find ourselves as the only woman in the room, the only immigrant or the only artist in the room, etc. Can you talk to us about how you have learned to be effective and successful in situations where you are the only one in the room like you?
I’ve learned to be confident in who I am and to embrace the fact that I’ve earned my place in every room through hard work, talent, and a strong work ethic. Instead of feeling insecure about being the only one who looks like me, I see it as an opportunity to pave the way for others and create more inclusive spaces.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am a creative, collaborative, and strategic leader with 20 years of experience in strategic planning, marketing, branding, communications, and social impact programs. Throughout my career, I have worked in both corporate and nonprofit sectors. As the founder and CEO of LTrice Consulting, LLC, a full-service marketing consulting agency, I lead a team that delivers a wide range of strategic marketing services. These include traditional and digital marketing plans and execution, multicultural marketing, brand management, public and community relations planning, and creative design. Whether you’re seeking a long-term fractional marketing department or a creative partner for a short-term marketing communications project, my team and I are here to help. We take a results-driven approach, focusing on delivering measurable outcomes that drive business growth.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Communication from Michigan State University and a Master’s degree in Communication from Grand Valley State University. I’ve been honored to receive the Grand Rapids Business Journal/Crain’s Grand Rapids “40 Under 40” award in both 2010 and 2022. With a deep passion for community, I serve on several local and statewide nonprofit boards and committees. I’m also a motivational speaker and was proud to be a 2023 mainstage MOTH performer.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are being open to taking on new challenges, building strong relationships with others, and maintaining a strategic mindset paired with strong execution.
For those early in their journey, my advice is to embrace opportunities that push you outside your comfort zone, as they are often the moments where you’ll grow the most. Focus on building genuine connections and relationships—success is rarely achieved alone, and the people you surround yourself with can be invaluable sources of support, knowledge, and collaboration. Finally, prioritize being both strategic and action-oriented; great ideas are important, but the ability to execute those ideas effectively is what sets you apart.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
As my business continues to scale and grow, I’m always open to opportunities to collaborate with complementary businesses on impactful projects. I’m also interested in connecting with early-career talent who excel in content creation and are eager to grow their skills. If you’re interested in partnering or collaborating, I’d love to hear from you! Let’s connect and explore how we can work together.
