Meet Nancy Nazari

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Nancy Nazari a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Nancy , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

I got my work ethic from my parents. My mom worked multiple jobs at times to make sure my siblings and I could get through school, and my dad was always at work—maybe a little too much, honestly. But watching both of them, I learned the value of showing up, being reliable, and staying committed. Their hard work really stuck with me and shaped how I approach life and work today.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

My career journey has been a bit of a wild ride! I started out during the dot-com boom, working crazy hours and chasing stock values. When that bubble burst, I was completely burnt out and knew I needed something more meaningful. That’s when I made the switch to the pharmaceutical industry. It felt good to focus on work that made a real difference in people’s lives, and I spent the next decade hitting my career goals.

But deep down, I still felt like something was missing. I wanted to inspire people in a different way, so I took a leap and pursued acting full-time. For eight years, I hustled, learned, and grew so much, and while it wasn’t always easy, it was incredibly rewarding to connect with people through storytelling.

More recently, I’ve shifted again, this time to creating a women’s empowerment retreat called Unplug, ReConnect & Dance. It’s my way of helping women break through limiting beliefs, uncover their unique gifts, and build a positive relationship with money. Annnnnd, we also throw in some ballroom dancing for fun! Our next retreat is happening January 22–24 in Encino, CA, and I couldn’t be more excited about it.

For more information on the retreat, you can visit www.unplugreconnectanddance.com. It’s been an amazing journey to bring all the pieces of my life together to help women step into their power!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, three qualities that had the biggest impact on my journey are staying open to change and being flexible, seeing failure as an opportunity for growth, and practicing gratitude. On a more personal and spiritual note, prayer has also been a constant for me—it’s been a source of guidance and has played a big role in shaping my opportunities and successes.

Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?

My ideal client is someone who’s ready and open to stepping into a happier, more fulfilling life. They know deep down that something amazing is waiting for them, but they might feel unsure or overwhelmed about how to get there. Honestly, these are the people I dream about helping—they’re my absolute favorite to work with!
