We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Travon Amor Mitchell. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Travon amor below.
Hi Travon amor , you’ve got such an interesting story, but before we jump into that, let’s first talk about a topic near and dear to us – generosity. We think success, happiness and wellbeing depends on authentic generosity and empathy and so we’d love to hear about how you become such a generous person – where do you think your generosity comes from?
I always put my self in others shoes. And I feel bad if I say no. Also I like to make sure everyone is living easy. So if I can, I’ll make others life’s easier. Also love just helping. Sometimes it hinders you, because it takes time away from your personal life, or takes away from your personal life in general, but doing good will always bring good.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am a current basketball player, I am in the middle of chasing an achievement. I am trying to become an overseas basketball player or nba basketball player. The journey is most exciting about it right now. Just going day by day practicing, gaining knowledge, training, workouts, knowing where I am headed too. I am a Point Guard, I am 6’3 and 175 lbs. I like to pass first and I am a sharp shooter.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Knowing to be very patient, it helped me with controlling a lot of stuff throughout my life. Mainly just knowing how to be mature. Being able to control my emotions is another one. It allows me to move throughout the world without showing off an ego. And finally taking time. Knowing to have pace but also not wasting any time because time is the only thing we cannot earn back at all.

All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?
My main obstacle I have right now, is probably not having anyone by my side or any help with eyes on me. I don’t have any camera men, or anyone recording my games. So I just have to show off my talent and hope recruits see it. Or set my own camera up and upload my own videos to instagram or other platforms for coaches and recruits to see. It’s hard because It doesn’t help much doing it myself but at the same time, it’s better then not having any film for coaches to look at. So I am happy with what I can get. I grew up in highschool before there was camera man. So I never got any highschool footage, only pictures. So It has carried on up until now as a 23 year old aspiring pro.
