Meet Kaylee And Courtney

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kaylee And Courtney. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kaylee and Courtney below.

Kaylee and Courtney , looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?

Kaylee and I were fortunate to grow up with incredibly hardworking parents who instilled the same values in us from a young age. Our dad, who worked as a property manager, gave us the opportunity to earn money by cleaning apartments when we were just 12 years old. Those early experiences taught us the importance of hard work, responsibility, and perseverance. Looking back, we’re so grateful for the lessons they provided, as they’ve shaped us into the dedicated business owners we are today.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

Our small business is both inspired by and named after our daughters, who continue to be our greatest motivation. Selling children’s clothing has given us the opportunity to connect with other moms navigating the same journey of motherhood. My favorite part of this business has been the incredible community of mothers we’ve built along the way. Watching this community not only support us but also uplift and care for one another has been truly heartwarming. As we look to the future, we’re committed to creating more custom pieces made with high-quality materials, ensuring we continue to serve and celebrate our amazing community.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

The most important skills we’ve relied on in our journey are communication, relatability, and honesty. When we started, we knew nothing about running a business. What set us apart was our ability to connect with and listen to our customers. This has been the key to building trust and growing our business into what it is today.

Customers want to feel heard and to support a business they respect and trust. That’s what we strive to provide every day. While your business will evolve over time, it’s crucial to start with a solid foundation. If you’re starting a business, prioritize listening to your customers and making adjustments based on their feedback. This approach will guide your growth and success.

Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?

Our biggest growth improvements have come from refining our products themselves. When we started, we had minimal knowledge of manufacturing, but over time, we’ve realized just how critical the process is and how much attention to detail it requires. As a mom, you simply buy clothes without thinking much about how they’re made. But as a business owner, you quickly come to appreciate the immense effort and care that goes into creating every single outfit a child wears.

One of the most valuable lessons we’ve learned is the importance of using high-quality fabrics. The right materials not only improve the product but also build trust with customers who expect durability and comfort for their little ones. These insights have shaped our approach and contributed significantly to our growth.
