Meet Vinicius Amaro

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Vinicius Amaro. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Vinicius below.

Vinicius, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

Throughout my life, I have been gathering my experiences and at a certain point I realized that all the repertoire I had acquired could actually benefit me professionally. I brought to my professional life everything I experienced in my adolescence and youth, such as my musical tastes, my lifestyle preferences, etc. The purpose is still built in my adult life, but in fact the past times had a great influence.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

My name is Vinicius Amaro, born and raised in Brazil in the city of São Paulo, I’m 37 years old and I’ve been working with design for around 23 years, creating art for some clothing brands. I have a degree in Graphic Design from the University of Fine Arts of São Paulo and since then I have been developing this work focused on Californian culture for some brands.

I have always been fascinated by Mexican culture as well as lowrider culture, on one of my trips to Mexico in 2014 I was certain that I wanted to build a brand focused on this market that was expanding in South America but there was a deficit of products with this focus.

Then, in 2020, I launched my brand (Pinche Loco Original) and as I already had a lot of followers for my creative work, the brand brought me a very loyal audience in Brazil and other parts of the world.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Every beginning is really difficult and I can say with all my heart that to truly fit into a certain movement or culture, professionally speaking, is a very difficult task. My career since I was very young has always been built on a lot of resilience, patience and honesty, which are things I learned from my dear father. Things took a long time to produce any results, but until I achieved them I would not stop. There is a phrase that always reminds me about this whole subject: “If you don’t do it, someone else will do it for you, so do it.”

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?

My parents were the foundation of my life. It was in my family’s desire that I was able to find the true meaning of the words love above all and humility. These are two extremely powerful words that sum up the life of a brilliant professional future. If you don’t have love and humility, you will certainly not get anywhere.
