We recently connected with Anthony Yancey-Pollard and have shared our conversation below.
Anthony , so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
I found my purpose originally from seeing the low points of students and people in high school and some friends in college and had an idea to organize to whole “A.Y.P.” Idea

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
So first and foremost, it’s bigger than a brand. “A.Y.P. “ is a message and I spread that message through clothes, photography, influencing, social media, content, creation, etc.. for those who don’t know A.Y.P. stands for align your purpose, and my target audience is typically high school to college kids because I believe those are the people who need to align their purpose them both cause think about it high school kids or transitioning to the real world in adolescence and figure out what they wanna do in life in college kids. They’re in college trying to figure out what they wanna major in to build a career.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
OK, so some skills that are most impactful do this journey was really being able to go outside the box and really think freely and going outside myself with talking to people because growing up. I had a problem just talking and having anxiety and talking to people about something important, but once I broke through that struggle-people really take you more seriously and they really understand the message you’re trying to pursue and put on them.
One piece of advice that I will try to give it to anyone that’s doing what I’m doing or similar in that in this niche ,is don’t worry about the income or the money that’s coming in or don’t worry about accolades do it for genuality and do it for genuine change because once you do it with purpose and passion you will see that that positivity will gravitate towards you.

What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?
One obstacle that I’ve been facing since moving to Raleigh is everyone around me being secluded and no one really wants to help or give out similar resources to help each other altogether.
Something I’m doing currently right now is interviewing people who I think are making an impact or people who have a great story to tell, and I give them a platform on my social media to like tell their story and with that it shows how we can all be together and help one another.
