Meet Miranda Malone

We were lucky to catch up with Miranda Malone recently and have shared our conversation below.

Miranda, thank you so much for joining us. You are such a positive person and it’s something we really admire and so we wanted to start by asking you where you think your optimism comes from?

My optimism comes from the resilience I’ve cultivated through loss and the grounding I’ve found in spiritualism, which has shown me there is more to life than just the pain of losing my mom. Growing up without her left me with a deep sense of longing and questions that shaped much of my early journey. For a long time, I felt untethered, defined by grief and the absence of that maternal connection. But as I began to explore spirituality, everything shifted.

One pivotal moment came during my exploration of spirit and energy. I started to consume content after piece after reading on past lives and reincarnation —it was what I was always looking for. A calming, deep knowing that our connection transcends physical existence. That moment, and many others like it, opened me to the belief that love, and relationships are never truly lost, even in death.

Spiritualism gave me a framework to hold my grief while embracing joy and purpose. It showed me that healing isn’t about leaving pain behind but about finding light within it. Witnessing others on their paths of resilience and transformation further strengthens this belief. Optimism, for me, is rooted in the certainty that even in life’s hardest moments, there is connection, meaning, and love waiting to be discovered.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I’m a holistic grief therapist specializing in helping women, particularly motherless daughters, navigate the unique challenges of loss, healing, and self-discovery. Losing my mom at five months old profoundly shaped my life and work, giving me a deep understanding of the complexities of grief and the power of resilience. My practice is rooted in combining evidence-based therapeutic techniques with alternative modalities like mindfulness, meditation, and spiritual exploration. I believe that healing happens when we address the mind, body, and soul as interconnected parts of our journey.

What excites me most about my work is seeing clients transform their pain into purpose, rediscovering their inner strength and connection to themselves and their loved ones. I’m particularly passionate about helping women who feel unseen or unmoored find grounding and clarity. My clients often describe our sessions as healing, comforting, and empowering.

Currently, I’m expanding my offerings to include group workshops and events. In January, I’ll be launching a second grief support group for women, blending psychoeducation with collaborative processing. I’m also planning a healing evening that incorporates hypnotherapy and sound healing—a creative process to honor loss and growth. These events are designed to create safe, supportive spaces for connection and transformation.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, three qualities that were most impactful in my journey have been resilience, empathy, and a commitment to lifelong learning. These have not only shaped me personally but also deeply influenced my work as a holistic grief therapist.

Resilience developed through my own experiences with loss. Learning how to navigate and transform my grief into purpose taught me that challenges are opportunities for growth. For those just starting out, I recommend embracing adversity as a teacher. Journaling, mindfulness practices, and therapy can all help you cultivate resilience and self-awareness.

Empathy has been crucial in my ability to connect with others. It’s something I honed through actively listening to clients, friends, and mentors. To develop empathy, practice being fully present in conversations. Seek to understand others without judgment, and expose yourself to diverse perspectives through books, media, and meaningful dialogue.

Lifelong learning has kept me curious and adaptable. My path has included exploring evidence-based therapy techniques alongside holistic and spiritual practices. For anyone early in their journey, my advice is to stay open to growth. Read widely, invest in professional development, and take time to reflect on how your own experiences shape your work. Growth is a continual process, and that’s the beauty of it.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?

The most impactful thing my mom did for me was leaving this world when I was just five months old. While her passing was an unimaginable loss, I’ve come to understand it as her soul’s decision—one that shaped the entire course of my life in profound ways. Spiritually, I believe her choice to leave me so early gave me the foundation for everything I have now: my resilience, my empathy, and my calling to help others through grief. Her absence taught me the depth of longing, the complexities of healing, and the beauty of connection that transcends physical existence.

Equally impactful was my father’s unwavering love and support throughout my life. He was my steadfast rock, providing encouragement and a sense of security even as we navigated our different and concurrent grief. His unconditional love showed me the power of stability and strength in relationships, grounding me as I found my way. Together, their presence—one in spirit and one in life—gave me the tools and courage to become who I am today. I carry both of their influences with me every step of my journey.
