We recently connected with Amore’ Dear and have shared our conversation below.
Amore’, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
Finding my purpose has been quite a journey, and I can honestly say it wasn’t easy. Music has always been my passion, especially growing up in Memphis, TN. Memphis features a great amount of history for music and the arts.
I fell in love with music in the fifth grade, which set me on a path of playing in the orchestra for over ten years. During my time at Overton High School in Memphis, TN, I was part of the Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA) program. While this program allowed us to express ourselves through various art forms, it only permitted one arts focus at a time. It was difficult because I played in multiple symphonies during High School and until I graduated from University, which any musician can agree limits your schedule. I always wanted to explore theatre, but my commitment to the orchestra conflicted with that.
Even after college, I was determined to pursue acting, so I began seeking extra gigs, which eventually led to speaking roles. This exploration was crucial in helping me understand my artistic identity.
As for event planning, I discovered that passion during college when I started organizing parties and get-togethers for friends and family. My mom has always been the “Martha Stewart” of our family, and her knack for hosting inspired me. This familial influence helped me recognize my own enthusiasm for event coordination. I was also heavily influenced by the show Insecure! After seeing Issa Rae have that fictional career on screen, made me realize having the real one was very possible.
So when I was offered the opportunity to be an Event Coordinator for a digital Hip Hop and R&B Magazine (NuRenaissance Certified), it was like a dream come true! It mixed both of my passions into a exciting career, and I’m loving the journey of self-discovery it has taken me on thus far.
Lastly, would be my Shea Body Butter business! I created this business to promote and encourage women to feel beautiful and comfortable on their own skin, at an affordable price. I am promoting it locally at the moment, but I plan to expand next year!
Ultimately, my journey has shown me that finding one’s purpose is about exploring different avenues, embracing new experiences, and connecting with what truly resonates within you. I like to say “You can always achieve as long as you believe”. I’m grateful for every step along the way that has led me to where I am today.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
What truly energizes me is the ability to create moments and environment where individuals feel comfortable being themselves. As an event coordinator and actress, my world is a vibrant blend of creativity, strategic planning, and storytelling. Whether it’s a corporate conference, personal party, or private celebration, I approach each project with precision, creativity, and a passion for detail. My work allows me to transform spaces, create memorable experiences, and bring narratives to life – both on stage and through meticulously planned events. In addition to my acting work, I am excited to announce that I am looking to start a podcast where I can explore various topics and share insights.
In event coordination, I specialize in crafting unique, seamless experiences that exceed client expectations. Especially with Renaissance Certified, we are a digital magazine dedicated to showcasing the vibrant hip hop and R&B talent emerging from Tennessee. Currently, we host seasonal showcases and starting our most recent segment called Certified Lounge, which is more of an intimate Tiny Desk setting. We would love for you to catch the next live showcase set for April 2025.
As an actress, I am passionate about bringing characters to life and collaborating with creatives across the industry.
My background in performing arts gives me a unique perspective, allowing me to understand the importance of flow, timing, and emotional impact. I invite producers, directors, screenwriters, and content creators to connect with me, as I am currently available for new projects. You can explore my work through my personal website, which features my acting resume, headshots, and demo reels. Follow me on social media for updates on my journey and to see my latest performances. I look forward to the opportunity to work together and create something exceptional!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
First, artistic versatility has played a crucial role. My journey began with music and expanded to include acting and event planning, allowing me to adapt and excel in various artistic domains. Second, persistence and curiosity have been vital. Despite facing scheduling conflicts in high school that prevented me from pursuing theatre, I never gave up on my desire to explore this passion. Instead, I sought out acting opportunities even after college, which ultimately led to speaking roles and further growth in my craft. Lastly, my organizational and creative skills have been instrumental in my event coordination career. The ability to plan and execute events—developed through throwing parties for friends during college—combined with my creative background in the arts, has allowed me to create memorable experiences.
For those who are early in their journey, I offer a few pieces of advice on how to develop these qualities. First, embrace diverse experiences; don’t limit yourself to one area of expertise. Exploring different artistic pursuits or related fields can broaden your skill set and lead to unexpected opportunities. Second, stay persistent and open-minded. If you can’t pursue a passion immediately, don’t give up; look for alternative ways to gain experience, even if it means starting small or taking on extra projects. Additionally, consider blending your passions; finding ways to combine different interests can set you apart in your field. For instance, my love for the arts naturally complemented my event planning endeavors.
Moreover, learning from role models can be incredibly beneficial. My main three role models are: Nina Simone, Maya Angelou, and Queen Latifah. Maya Angelou once said “If you’re always trying to be normal, you will never know how amazing you can be.”
So pay attention to those who inspire you—like how my mother’s hosting skills influenced my own approach to event planning—and seek mentors or study the careers of individuals you admire. Finally, practice continuously; whether it’s honing your craft in the arts or improving your organizational skills, consistent practice is key to improvement. Remember that finding your purpose is often a journey of exploration and growth. Be patient with yourself, stay open to new experiences, and don’t be afraid to pivot or combine your interests in unique ways.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
When I feel overwhelmed, I find that channeling my energy into creative outlets and physical activity helps me regain my balance. One of my favorite ways to cope is through screenwriting. Writing allows me to express my emotions and transform negative feelings into positive narratives, which can be incredibly cathartic. Additionally, I enjoy playing The Sims—yes, I’m a proud simmer! This game provides a fun escape where I can immerse myself in a different world and exercise my creativity in building and storytelling. Finally, I also prioritize working out; physical activity not only boosts my mood but also helps clear my mind. Overall, these activities help me manage stress and navigate overwhelming moments with greater ease.
