Brittany, we are so happy that our community is going to have a chance to learn more about you, your story and hopefully even take in some of the lessons you’ve learned along the way. Let’s start with self-care – what do you do for self-care and has it had any impact on your effectiveness?

For the last couple of years, I began journaling for self-care. It can be a transformative practice that offers numerous benefits for mental, emotional, & even physical well-being. The impact it has had on my effectiveness is emotional release, self-reflection, clarity & insight, goal setting & motivation. This resulted in improved focus, enhanced creativity, better decision-making & personal growth. Overall, the practice of journaling for self-care can lead to a profound improvement in emotional well-being & effectiveness in various aspects of life. It cultivates a deeper connection with oneself, leading to more mindful & purposeful living.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

After years of being in the office & navigating the corporate landscape, I chose to establish Sign and Stamp Notary Services – a testament to my commitment to personal and professional independence. I made a pivotal decision that would change my professional career.

The journey of becoming a female entrepreneur is never straightforward. Like many women, I had spent years building someone else’s dream, feeling constrained by corporate structures and limited by glass ceilings. The decision to launch my own notary business was a profound statement of personal empowerment.

Sign and Stamp Notary Services represents more than just a business – it’s a reflection of my determination to create my own path. As a woman in business, I understand the importance of being strong, resilient, & unapologetically ambitious. The notary world can be competitive, but I’ve learned that strength comes from confidence, knowledge, and an unwavering belief in oneself.

My business offers comprehensive notary services, providing individuals and businesses with reliable, professional document authentication. From real estate transactions to legal documents, Sign and Stamp ensures every client receives meticulous attention to detail & exceptional customer service.

I invested time in understanding the notary industry, building a network, and developing a unique value proposition that sets me apart from competitors. The journey of entrepreneurship is a bold declaration of independence – one stamp at a time.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

During my journey, I can highlight three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that are typically impactful for entrepreneurs.
The first is paying attention to detail. In the notary business, precision is critical.
Notaries must ensure that all documents are completed accurately, signatures are validated, & regulations are followed. Developing a keen attention to detail helps avoid errors that could lead to legal complications and preserves the integrity of the services provided.
Second is having strong communication skills. Effective communication is essential for understanding client needs, explaining processes, & providing clear instructions.
Whether interacting with clients, other professionals, or managing team members, being able to convey information clearly helps build trust & fosters positive relationships.
Third is knowledge of legal & regulatory requirements. A thorough understanding of local, state, & federal regulations regarding notary services is crucial. This knowledge not only ensures compliance but also positions the entrepreneur as a credible & reliable source of information.
Staying updated on changes in the law or new technologies impacting the notary industry can also provide a competitive edge.

Focusing on these qualities can significantly enhance the success and growth of a notary services business.

For women considering entrepreneurship, I want to share an important message: Your strength is your greatest asset. Being strong doesn’t mean being fearless – it means moving forward despite your fears. It means believing in your capabilities, supporting other women, & creating opportunities where none seemed to exist before. Also, your dreams are valid. Your ambitions matter. Your strength is transformative.

As I continue to grow Sign and Stamp Notary Services, I’m reminded that true success isn’t just about financial achievements, but about creating a life that aligns with your values, passions, & vision for yourself.

My husband, Rob has been incredibly supportive in my journey to establish and excel in Sign and Stamp Notary Services. His assistance has been invaluable in several key areas.
The first is emotional support, starting a new venture can be daunting, & Rob has been my unwavering cheerleader. His encouragement has helped boost my confidence, especially during challenging times when I doubted my abilities. Whenever I faced obstacles, he reminded me of my strengths & motivated me to keep pushing forward.
Secondly, he dedicated time to help me research the notary industry, including the specific requirements and regulations in our state. His thorough understanding of the business landscape enabled me to navigate the initial setup process with greater ease and confidence.
Lastly, he also played a crucial role in brainstorming marketing strategies. Together, we explored various ways to promote my notary services, from leveraging social media to creating promotional materials. His insights and ideas have helped me reach a wider audience and attract more clients. Overall, Rob has been an essential partner in my journey to establish Sign and Stamp Notary Services.
