Meet Miranda Tibbling Ugwo

We were lucky to catch up with Miranda Tibbling Ugwo recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Miranda , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
I think I get my work ethic form mostly my mom and seeing everything she been true. It’s been hard for her but watching her made me understand how important working hard and having discipline is.

When I started parkour I only trained with boys and I still do. But I travel more now and have the opportunity to meet more girls. But in the beginning I only trained with boys which forced me to work even harder. Trying to keep up with their skills and level.
I believe if you work hard and believe in yourself you can achieve anything you want! But you need to be willing to work hard and push yourself everyday

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I do parkour, Im a parkour athlete. I started when I was around 11 years old and now I have been traveling all over

The world and competing since that.
the best thing about parkour is that it’s very free. There is no wrong or right. You are in control. That’s what I love about parkour. But also the community everyone is so nice and welcoming.
It’s a sport for everyone. There is so many different things you can do and specialize in. No matter what age you are it’s never too late!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Hard question but I think. Having a good support system (family & friends) I always wanted and still want to get better and I’m never really satisfied. And my mom mostly she is my biggest supporter and I really look up to her!

My biggest tip would be is surround yourself with people who believe in you and want what is best for you. Don’t be to hard on yourself in the beginning. You can’t be the best over a night. And look at the internet and talk to people and get more knowledge.
And of course don’t give up it takes time

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I’m looking for brands to collaborate with. Parkour is a sport with not a lot of money so it’s hard to get good deals.

I want a brand who believes in me and believe we can achieve greats things together. Hopefully they are willing to support me and the things I want to do and project I want to do. And give back to my community. But most importantly inspire young people and especially girls to do sports
