Meet Dominique Evans

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Dominique Evans a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Dominique, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?

As cliche as it sounds. I was born this way I guess lol. I’ve always been very confident in myself at an early age. I correct people when they get my name wrong. Every room I walk into, I set the tone and have a commanding presence. I don’t do it on purpose. I’m just comfortable it who I am. I’m just original

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

Acting is my second career and soon to be full time. Modeling is my other passion as well and career. I’m excited for the handful of movies have coming soon such as Royal Retribution and waiting list. As well as new movies I’ve been casted in. Getting ready to film. On my way to be a full time actor. For modeling I have a few fahsion shows coming like Kansas City Fashion Week. I’m excited to a audition for a new fashion shows and to branch out outside Kansas city. I plan to branch out of the country for fashion shows as well. Acting and modeling is so special to me because is allows me to be Creative and free. I’m free to express myself and just create amazing art. I also get to work with amazing models, designers, Photographers and videographers alone the way. I was meant for this. I was meant for greatness and meet other great Creatives along the way. There are so many amazing human beings on this planet. I know I’m not the only amazing person on this earth. It’s inspiring to meet other actors and models that are as passionate as I am in creating amazing work. Talented as well.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Professionalism
Improvisation
Charismatic.

No matter the title of anyone. No matter the situation. Always be professional in certain settings. First impressions can go a long way.

The ability to improv can get you pretty far. Sometimes It can help a situation. I ve been In shows where things didn’t go a plan. The show must go on though.

Charisma is purely magic. If you’re charismatic, the possibility are endless for you. Opportunity can rise and you can make and impact on anyone.

All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?

Booking. I haven’t done a lot of commercials this year. I can’t control how casting goes for all of my auditions. I even nailed almost every audition with commercials, movies and fashion shows. It sucks when you don’t get picked. I have to get keeping and I won’t give up. Other opportunities will come.
