Meet Waverly Coleman

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Waverly Coleman. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with WAVERLY below.

Hi WAVERLY, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.

My optimism comes from seeing how challenges can turn into opportunities. Over the years, I’ve learned that with the right mindset, even the toughest situations can lead to something incredible. I also get so much energy from the people I work with—clients, collaborators, my team—who constantly remind me how much is possible when you’re creative and determined. And honestly, a lot of it comes from gratitude. When I take a step back and focus on what’s going right, it’s hard not to feel hopeful about what’s ahead.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I’m the Founder and Creative Director of Waverly Coleman Events, where I plan weddings, events, and brand experiences that feel like magic. What excites me most about what I do is the chance to take an idea—sometimes just a tiny spark—and turn it into something unforgettable. Whether it’s a wedding that feels deeply personal or a brand event that stops people in their tracks, I love creating experiences that people will remember forever.

What makes Waverly Coleman Events special is the way we balance creativity with the nitty-gritty details. I’m all about the vision, but I also know how to make it happen seamlessly. I’ve been lucky to work with incredible clients like The Academy, Rihanna’s Fenty Puma, and Meta, which has given me a unique perspective on crafting events that are both innovative and meaningful.

Right now, I’m focused on leveling up our services—like offering more personalized touches, introducing unique gifting options, and creating even more elevated designs. I’m also excited about the incredible weddings we’re working on for next year. At the end of the day, I want people to know that Waverly Coleman Events is here to help them celebrate their moments in the most beautiful, intentional way possible.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, three things that have been absolutely essential in my journey are resilience, creativity, and building authentic relationships.

Resilience has been huge because, let’s be honest, nothing ever goes 100% to plan. Learning how to stay calm, adapt, and keep pushing forward has made all the difference. For anyone starting out, my advice is to embrace the challenges—they’re where you’ll grow the most.

Creativity is another big one. It’s what sets you apart and keeps things exciting. Whether I’m solving a problem or designing an event, being able to think differently has been a game-changer. To develop this, stay curious—look for inspiration everywhere, even outside your industry.

And lastly, relationships are everything. This business is so personal, and taking the time to genuinely connect—with clients, collaborators, and your team—makes all the difference. My advice? Listen more than you talk, and always deliver on what you promise. People remember how you make them feel.

If you focus on these, you’ll be amazed at how much you can accomplish.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

I’ve long admired the work of Javier Valentino, and I would be honored to collaborate with his team. His approach to design is something I deeply respect, and I believe together, we could create something that truly elevates the industry.

On a personal note, I’m focused on being featured in Vogue for my wedding design work. My commitment to creating exceptional, one-of-a-kind experiences drives my passion for this goal, and I know it will reflect the level of artistry and attention to detail I bring to each project.

While I already work with corporate clients, I’m eager to make it a more consistent part of my work. I thrive on creating immersive, high-impact experiences for events like Cannes, Sundance, and similar prestigious occasions. These types of projects challenge me in the best way, and I’m excited to continue making a significant impact with brands and audiences at the highest level.

I’m also manifesting an invite to the Engage Summits, as I believe being surrounded by visionary industry leaders would be a powerful way to continue growing and contributing to the world of luxury events.
