Meet Gilford Larbi Agyire

We recently connected with Gilford Larbi Agyire and have shared our conversation below.

Gilford , thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?

Creativity, to me, is the ability to develop new ideas, build upon existing ones, or improve what already exists. To keep creativity alive, you need a combination of drive and hunger—whether it’s the desire to solve problems, express your vision, or share your unique perspective. It doesn’t always have to be both of these qualities; it can be one or the other, or even a balance of both.

I believe creativity is a deeply human trait. It can be innate—a gift we are born with—or it can stem from curiosity and the talents we develop over time. To nurture and keep it alive, I think it’s essential to pay attention to what the universe presents to us—the signs, the inspirations, and the visions that spark something within us—and to act on them. Like Nike says, “Just do it.” That’s how you keep creativity alive: by taking action.

I’ve personally experienced the consequences of not following through on creative visions. There have been times when I’ve had a great idea but let it sit too long, only to see someone else execute it—sometimes brilliantly, other times not as well as I know I could have. Those moments are a reminder of the importance of action. Once I get started, my drive for excellence ensures that I’ll see it through and create something remarkable.

To keep creativity alive, you must execute your vision and share your perspective with the world. Creativity is about driving solutions, filling gaps, and sharing how you see and interpret the world. It thrives when we take action and bring our ideas to life.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I am an IT consultant by profession and an entrepreneur at heart—a challenging combination that, at some point, I may need to choose between. Which path I ultimately drop, I’ll leave to the reader’s imagination. What I know for certain is that I love solving problems and driving solutions. However, my true, innate ability lies in creativity. I’m most fulfilled when I’m designing and bringing to life the ideas that exist in my imagination.

This passion is what led me to launch my clothing line, **Western Shore**. It’s a unique and luxurious streetwear brand inspired by the many walks of life I’ve experienced. Western Shore is a reflection of my vision—combining creativity, quality, and a deep sense of personal expression.

Western Shore is a beautiful Journey of Garments from fly person running their day to day activity to the clean, tailored suited personnel in the luxury private getaways around the world

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Adaptability
The ability to adapt has been crucial in navigating the dual roles of an IT consultant and entrepreneur. Whether it’s staying on top of technological advancements or shifting gears between business demands and creative pursuits, adaptability has allowed me to thrive in changing environments.

Advice.
For those early in their journey, embrace change. Develop a mindset that sees challenges as opportunities to learn and grow. Stay open to new ideas and be willing to pivot when necessary—adaptability isn’t just a skill; it’s a survival tool.

Problem-Solving
Solving problems isn’t just a professional skill for me; it’s a passion. Whether in IT or entrepreneurship, understanding how to assess a situation, identify gaps, and create effective solutions has been a driving force in my success. This skill has not only built my confidence but also opened doors to countless opportunities.

Advice:
Cultivate a problem-solving mindset by practicing critical thinking. Break problems into smaller, manageable parts, and approach each with curiosity and creativity. Remember, the best solutions often come from thinking outside the box.

Creative Mindset
At the core of everything I do is creativity—my innate ability to imagine, design, and bring ideas to life. This is what led me to launch my clothing line, Western Shore, where I merge luxurious streetwear with the stories and experiences of my life. Creativity isn’t just about artistic expression; it’s about finding unique approaches to everything you do.

Advice:
Foster your creativity by allowing yourself to dream big and take risks. Surround yourself with inspiration—whether it’s through travel, reading, or connecting with diverse people and cultures. Most importantly, take action on your ideas. Creativity flourishes when it’s practiced and executed.

Final Thought:
For those starting their journey, my advice is to embrace the learning process. Be patient with yourself and intentional about developing these qualities. Surround yourself with mentors and peers who challenge and inspire you. And always, always take the time to reflect on your progress—it’s often in looking back that you realize just how far you’ve come.

What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?

My Biggest Challenge is me. Sitting on ideas and not executing in time. Doubts, procrastination and overthinking or over-analyzing.

However, putting a plan together a plan to take action, to do and tackle some sort of road block each day. and to follow through from start to finish
