Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kasia Stiggelbout. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Kasia, so great to have you with us today. There are so many topics we want to ask you about, but perhaps the one we can start with is burnout. How have you overcome or avoided burnout?
This is a question I can relate to deeply. As a (recovering) Type-A entrepreneur and Silicon Valley tech veteran, my life has long been a cycle of hustle, achievement, and burnout. For too long, I believed my health and ambition were at odds — the harder I worked, the more I achieved, but the worse I’d feel.
The wake-up call came in 2021 when I experienced a roaring autoimmune flare as a result of burnout. I realized that without my health, none of the success mattered. It was a frightening realization. My work habits simply were not sustainable.
For years I treated my body like a piece of machinery—pushing myself to maintain constant output every single day, ignoring the signs and needs of my body. I’m sure many readers can relate. But I’ve since learned that women’s bodies are naturally cyclical, and ill-suited to the mechanical daily cadence of the modern workplace. While men’s hormonal rhythms cycle every 24 hours, women follow a 28-day infradian cycle, which impacts our energy, focus, and creativity in distinct phases.
Once I started to honor that rhythm, a practice known as cycle-syncing, everything shifted. It wasn’t about doing less work, rather doing the right work at the right time. For example, I book high-energy meetings during peak phases and reserve lower-energy times for deep, reflective work. This subtle shift helped me stop fighting my body and instead learn to harness its wisdom.
Burnout, I’ve come to see, isn’t just about overworking. It’s about misalignment—fighting against your natural rhythms, both physically and emotionally.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Haha, well this may not be surprising given my answer to the first question – but I’ve translated my passion into the work I do today! I’m the founder of In Flow, a wellness brand dedicated to helping women reconnect with their innate feminine rhythm. At its core, In Flow is about empowering women to live in alignment with their natural cycles rather than fighting against them. Our flagship product, a personalized planner, is designed to help women align their schedules, movement routines, and nutrition with their hormonal cycles. We help women make small, intentional shifts from burnout into a state of flow, creativity, and balance.
After my own physical rock-bottom in 2021, I left Microsoft and dove deep into studying nutrition, Chinese Medicine, and cyclical living. This transformed how I view my energy, time, self-worth, and self-care. This inspired me to design tools like In Flow to meet a need I deeply felt myself. Alongside it, I launched my podcast, The Other Way, to connect with and learn from inspirational women pursuing the path less traveled by.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Compassion – One of the greatest gifts of my career has been the privilege of working with incredible people. Collaboration has been at the heart of every significant achievement I’m proud of —whether it was organizing TEDx events, launching a multi-million-dollar product for Microsoft, or building In Flow (shout out to my sister-in-laws and hubby!). Effective teams must be built on a bedrock of compassion.
Mindful Presence – As a longtime meditator, mindfulness and meditation have been transformative in both my personal and professional life, especially over the past two years as my practice has deepened. Mindfulness allows me to cultivate compassion for others, see ideas from fresh angles, and pause before reacting.
Curiosity – my hunger to understand how and why we do what we do has fueled everything! From the podcast, to new ideas, to my passion for events, and connecting with others. To quote Zen Master Suzuki Roshi, “In the beginner’s mind there are many possibilities, but in the expert’s there are few.”
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I love this question! Collaboration has been the key to my success and I’m absolutely looking for folks to partner with! At In Flow, our mission is to empower women with the education and tools we need to understand our bodies—our rhythms, menstrual health, and fertility—so we can thrive. I believe that this alignment is the key to unlocking our potential, creativity, and well-being as women. I’d love to connect with wellness professionals, thought leaders, and anyone else who’s excited about this mission!
