Meet Tami

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tami. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Tami, so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?

I have always been full of joy in life and always saw the positive. I believed in the way and the name that is mine. From a young age I was at peace with my path, despite quite a few difficulties and changes. My life is very dynamic and I constantly dream of the new thing and see the beautiful side of things without realizing how much everything develops me and advances me even if sometimes a bit challenging. I have an innocent girl in me, a dreamer who knows no limits, probably this is what preserves my optimism.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I grew up in a home that was very supportive of every choice I made, and somehow all my love for art and craft was not the part where my parents believed I would succeed and they wanted me to study at a university.
That is how I found myself graduating and working in office jobs such as an office manager, and as a purchasing and project manager.

During COVID-19 I had time to chill and rethink my life and my future, I felt that a new era was about to come, but I didn’t know yet what exactly was waiting for me.
I had many nice job opportunities but none of them felt right so I kept on looking.

Tufting guns had always attracted me, so back during COVID I decided to order my first tufting gun and Boaz (my love) supported and helped me with all my needs for my new hobby.
At that time very few people engaged with the tufting craft, so I had to learn all by myself, testing a lot and watching videos on YouTube.
The satisfaction of having a ready, usable, real handmade product made me realize that this is what I wanted to do.

I created a pop-up ‘shop’ for the first tufting workshop that started on the weekend and exploded very quickly.
In the last 4 years we had many pop-up workshops around the city and also one in Budapest! With a working studio, having workshops and selling our carpets.
After 1 year in Budapest we were back in Tel Aviv, with a new pop-up then finally opened our studio.

2024 was an amazing year for that studio.
We had tufting introduction lessons for so many nice and creative people, tufting courses, tufted mirror classes, live tufting events for companies such as Mini (BMW), etc., we designed a production set for a children’s show, had an exhibition in Budapest and a Tufting trip to Seoul to learn more about tufting and get new tufting skills.

In 2025 we plan to expand to new audiences.
Work together with interior designers, architects and production set engineers.
Our goal now is to expand the product of handmade custom carpets as part of the interior design market of offices and buildings, showroom floors and also private homes.

Our carpets are unique and one of a kind.
The designs are influenced by all the nature that surrounds us.
Our carpets are a piece of living art that is full of textures and colors and brings light and life to any space.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, I know that all the office, procurement and project management jobs I went through helped me a lot with my skills and the ability to manage the studio today.
Throughout the years, from the beginning, I consulted with a business consultant and checked if my vision also has financial value as a business. My recommendation is to always check the market, consult and believe in the process.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?

Boaz, my true love, who from the beginning supported and believed that I would succeed in whatever I choose. Fortunately, Boaz is a talented designer and painter and tattoo artist, with a lot of knowledge and years of experience. Thanks to him, my studio was launched at a very high level, from the logo to the management of the Social media and branding, it’s all because his support and help.
