Meet Adil Akhtar

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Adil Akhtar a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Adil, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

My work ethic comes from my family and cultural background. Being Asian American we have working hard and success driven into our minds at a young age. As well the many influences from family. For an example one of my biggest inspirations is my grandfather. Without his hard work and study my family would never been in America. Be still in Pakistan. Even to this day he support everyone from the motherland. He created and took care of his family himself his whole life and made our future generations easier living.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

The most exciting factor of my brand is my passion for doing it and the versatility. Being and visual artist I ponder on if that can be a career. Majority south asian backgrounds you get two choices. Doctor or engineer, so being a artist is obscure. But finding my niche and skill set in photography changed everything. I proven to family the success of my passion and a career can be made out of it. With my brand I really. bring culture in my set of style. Such as color and fashion. If anyone were to explore Pakistan or India those are the most recognizable and difference from the western world. But also in personal sense I bring the style of documentary. That appeal started from the love of old family albums and home movies combined with love for travel and learning about people.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Three skills that are networking, trade skill and adaptation. The best way to go about this first getting to it is; getting out meeting people, always practicing your trade daily and constantly keeping up with updates and the new.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?

The most impactful thing my parents done for me is trusting me. Showing them my art and giving visible evidence on the potential success gave them ability to trust me. The love and support from them got me to where I am.
