We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Shyra Lowe. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Shyra below.
Hi Shyra , you’ve got such an interesting story, but before we jump into that, let’s first talk about a topic near and dear to us – generosity. We think success, happiness and wellbeing depends on authentic generosity and empathy and so we’d love to hear about how you become such a generous person – where do you think your generosity comes from?
As far back as I can recall, I remember growing up in a household where generosity, in terms of the giving of money, things, and stuff was an almost everyday occurrence. However, generosity where it mattered, that originated from the right motives, and that was/is life-changing, didn’t enter into my life until my late twenties when I was exposed to authentic generosity from a caring, loving, and sacrificial God who in turn sent a caring, loving, generous, and sacrificial Savior, and wonderful, generous people into my life that changed my perspective regarding what authentic generosity was and would be for me to others…forever.
In the early two thousands, I unfortunately went through a divorce, and at the time, I felt the call to leave Georgia and relocate to Southern California with my
daughter to begin a new life. What this entailed was for my daughter and I to start a new life with just the clothes on our backs and a luxury vehicle in tow that would soon give out and need to be replaced. It was at this time that I was able to experience what generosity, that goes beyond money and that was steeped in pure love, meant and looked like. As my daughter and I sought stability in Southern California and to rebuild our lives, and as I further sought employment, God would send generous people like my parents along our path to help my daughter and I to obtain beautiful, safe housing as we were accustomed to in Georgia, and to bring others along my path to help me revitalize my professional career in this new land. We were also blessed to connect with individuals who freely and generously connected me with resources and the wherewithal to purchase another vehicle and to have my daughter placed in a beautiful private school environment where she thrived and remained until she graduated with top honors prior to going to undergraduate school and graduating with honors, and is now in graduate school working on her Doctorate/PhD in Psychology with the intent to be a generous vessel to others as she and her mommy have experienced along the way.
All of these beautiful acts of kindness and generosity during the times that my daughter and I needed them the most, changed my mind and heart regarding what generosity meant, what it should truly look like, and the purpose behind it. Over the many years, I have been so blessed to receive numerous generous acts from others that have not only changed me as a person but has changed and modified the trajectory of me and my daughter’s life completely. As a result of the generosity of others, my daughter and I went from sitting in the seat of the needy and needing the generosity of others, to now living a life of generosity towards others as we feel led to do so. During my time spent needing others to be generous, I learned not only how to be generous with my love, time, finances, mercy, and grace, but I also learned money management, investment skills and other educational tools that have brought about increase and multiplication in my life, and that I now use in my one-on-one or group coaching and mentoring services that I offer through my for-profit and non-profit entities to bring about success and the means for generosity in the lives of others. I not only offer financial education, coaching, and educational mentoring services through my for-profit entity Shyra Lowe Ministries, LLC, I also generously offer other services such as purpose identification, life-skill building, entrepreneur training, business development and other services for free under my non-profit organization, Shyra Lowe Ministries Foundation, Inc. as funds avail themselves in order for me to do so. My goal is to always make the services offered under my non-profit foundation available for free and easily accessible to all that are going through transition and may be experiencing temporary hardship like my daughter and I have experienced. Things haven’t always been perfect or easy for my daughter and I in life, but what I have learned is that my generosity not only helps others but it helps me to maintain my focus on what is the priority, and that is making sure I am always in a position to bless people with a generous hand and heart as I have been so blessed to receive the generosity of others along the way. One of my key or main mottos for the non-profit organization, Shyra Lowe Ministries Foundation, Inc. that I founded in 2024 is “as freely as I have received, freely I give”. This motto comes from a Bible verse in Matthew the 10th Chapter when Jesus was sending His disciples out to different lands to share the same generosity with others that they themselves had received along their journey. This motto is what I live by every moment of my life as a result of the amount and level of generosity that I have received over the years that not only included financial support, but open doors, favors, and access to people, places, and things that I wouldn’t normally have access to if these individuals didn’t walk in generosity or live a life of generosity towards me. These acts of generosity not only helped me overcome life’s financial challenges and obstacles but also helped restore my hope in relationships, people, and even God’s purpose for my life in helping and serving others. To that end, I am proud to say that living a life of generosity in every way has blessed me during life’s challenging times and also during life’s glorious moments. Generosity goes beyond financial support, even though that’s included as well. Generosity speaks to our willingness to share freely with others that which we have freely received from God and others, and I am so humbled and honored to be entrusted by God and others to be a vessel of generosity when and where it matters.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
A. Stick-to-itiveness is my dogged perseverance and tenacity that I have had in difficulty and in times of wanting to quit that has led to some of my greatest victories in terms of growth for my businesses from a customer perspective, and has broaden by reach in terms of who I now have access to because I was determined to gain access to people, places, and spaces when I had limited to no support at the time. I have learned along the way that no matter how hard things get, if you know that you have been called to certain people, places, and spaces, quitting is not an option but making much needed modifications and adjustments along the way so that you can remain on your journey to success may be necessary.
B. Kindness is seemingly under rated in today’s society and some times, based on the places and spaces, is often considered disingenuous in the places and spaces that people may not be accustomed to receiving it. Because I have made genuine kindness, from a place of gratitude and generosity, my natural default when conducting business or while serving in ministry, access to people, places, and spaces continue to open up to me because everyone needs and wants to be treated with kindness especially if they are on the giving end of it. I have learned that genuine kindness with no sinister motive attached, is the medicine that the betrayed, broken, and loveless soul needs, and I am absolutely willing to be a vessel of kindness to the people, places, and spaces I have been called to. It’s apart of the “freely as I have received, freely I give” motto that I live out under my businesses, whether it be the non-profit or for-profit entity. I make being kind a conscious effort and apart of my daily prayer time and declaration. I am determined to be kind in a world that is not so much any more.
C. Honesty has gone a long way for me. I grew up saying that “my word is my bond” which means that if I ever got in an pinch or a bind, you can trust my word like money to get me out of it. To that end, being honest, and not even brutally honest, but lovingly and mercifully honest has caused my clients to trust me to help develop and grow their businesses and to restructure their lives and families for greater and more successful outcomes. More often than not, when I have built lasting trust with my clients through genuine honesty, they want me to always be truthful and honest with them even if it hurts because they know that I will help them put all things in the right place in order for them to keep moving forward with positive and successful motion. Every day I include in my time of prayer and declarations that there is no space for lies and dishonesty. It will either be black or white for me…no shades of grey!
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
