We were lucky to catch up with Dana Mofsenson recently and have shared our conversation below.
Dana, thank you so much for joining us and offering your lessons and wisdom for our readers. One of the things we most admire about you is your generosity and so we’d love if you could talk to us about where you think your generosity comes from.
I was raised in a nurturing environment with parents who consistently supported my endeavors. Their encouragement was invaluable when I started my own business.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am the owner and designer of Dana Faith Jewelry. Each piece is made by hand where most pieces never come out the same. Jewelry has been in my family for generations. “My grandfather was a jeweler in Manhattan’s Diamond district for decades. I grew up watching him fine-tune his craft, and his innovation was the genesis of my early inspirations. I now walk in his footsteps every day down 47th street and I always feel that deep connection with my grandfather.
I incorporate hand made twisted wire jewelry using precious metals mixed with precious and semi-precious stones to create a variety of unique pieces for each client. My designs are inspired by my daily Buddhist practice, love for nature and appreciation of antique craftsmanship.
The most exciting part of being a jewelry designer is the interaction between my self and my customers and being able to create beautiful meaningful pieces.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
It starts with your vision then get it on paper next start creating! Get your feet wet. Intern with a company to really get hands on experience.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I am always looking to collaborate with other creatives. I currently am collaborating with 2 companies and putting our ideas together and making it 1! Especially when they are other female founders. Email is best or find me in Instagram @danafaithjewelry
