Meet English Foxxx

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful English Foxxx a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

English , appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?

The love I have for creating keeps it alive. There have been plenty of times I wanted to give up or just quit all together. It’s been a tough road for sure but normally when that happens I’ll end up meeting someone who is also a creative and they will inspire me or I will end up conversing with myself about the many reasons I shouldn’t quit.. I feel like my ideas are too amazing to do such a thing.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

My main goal since I started making music in 2019 is simply to get people to listen. I know if I can get them to listen I’ve accomplished something great. My first major project “Lack of Pattern” definitely opened the door for people to peep inside my head and the fact that I was able to put such a beautiful piece together really made me realize I could do this. I have an upcoming collab project coming out in February with my talented fiancé (Emphasiz). It’s definitely something different so be on the lookout for that amongst other projects coming out later this year.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Strength for sure. Def having the energy and will to be able to work on projects while working a 9 to 5. I’m not sure about anyone else but I def would have days I’d come home and not want to work on anything because I’m wore out from working so hard.

Support. Having a solid support system or people around you that believe in your craft just as much as you do will uplift you in so many ways. I’m telling you just having one person around that sees your vision can do so much for you spiritually and mentally.

Optimism. Thinking positive about the future. Sometimes the trials and errors of life can get you down but if you think ahead you can succeed. Write down goals that you may have or any endeavors you may want to conquer. It can truly do so much for you. You have to believe in yourself before anything else.
