Meet Yvonne Saldivar

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Yvonne Saldivar. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Yvonne, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

This may sound sad in a way, but my resilience came from my childhood struggle. My father was an alcoholic and my mother was extremely passive in terms of how she dealt with his vices, and it was a weekly ongoing struggle for my entire life. There were other things that went on in my home and outside of my home, that were definitely things that could have broken my spirit and I could have used as an excuse to not prevail – but I didn’t. I couldn’t, and I wouldn’t. Going through tumultuous and unpredictable circumstances at home taught me to be strong and that my circumstances shouldn’t define the type of human being that I became. I walked through life knowing that I didn’t want to be a victim. I wanted to be a victor. I really like to think that for the most part, I’ve succeeded in doing the best that I could given the tools that I had.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I am a bilingual travel wedding officiant. My business name is Blissful & Blessed Unions. I have been in business for a little over a year now, but have married over 350 couples in that time. I have a background in tax accounting with a BBA in Accounting and a Master’s of Accountancy degree. I am a wife and mother of 3 beautiful daughters who are the twinkle in my eyes, and I am just a generally positive individual with a zest and love for life and people.

Blissful & Blessed Unions was an idea conceived from the loss of my sister in 2023. It was my small business idea in the midst of my grief, and it turned out to be the most healing thing I could have ever done for myself. My couples are the heart of my business. I LOVE love, and I LOVE taking the time to get to know my couples on a personal level and transforming their ceremony experience that they are going to remember for the rest of their lives.

I want the readers to know, that EVERY couple that works with me receives the same attention to detail and personalization experience. I believe in love for everyone, no matter who you are. My business operates 24/7, and anywhere in the world.

In 2025, I am really excited about elevating my business and moving more into luxury and destination weddings along with wanting more quinceañera blessings and vow renewals as well.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

These three skills are what I believe have been an integral part of my success:
1. Being myself – being my authentic self with everyone has brought in the couples who want to work with me on a professional and personal level. “Not all business is good business”, and “not all business is your business”. Being genuine brings my target clientele organically.

2. Spreading the wealth – sending leads to other officiants when I can’t fill them is a no-brainer. Why not help someone who is just trying to be successful as well? No gatekeeping. No secrets. No mean-girl behavior. It’s completely unnecessary. Not a single person can handle the volume the wedding industry has to offer, so why not help someone who will not only remember your kindness, but who will also return the favor.

3. Network – “Your network is your networth”. Get out there and meet people, connect, and have fun. Those are all people who will be a part of your growth.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?

When I feel overwhelmed, I give it to God. I pray. I center and ground myself, and remind myself that this business and it’s growth is a journey and I have to accept what comes with it as I navigate the trials and triumphs.

I also remind myself of all the positives, and find the silver linings in the situation that is causing me to feel overwhelmed.
