Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Noam Ziv. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Noam, thanks for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re very focused on here – improving our ability to make decisions. Everyday, we’re faced with decisions that can impact the future of our careers, businesses, relationships and more and so one of the most impactful areas for personal development, in our view, is decision-making. Can you talk to us about how you developed or improved your decision-making skills?
I first started developing my decision-making skills by gaining knowledge through my undergraduate and graduate school education. Then, I worked in various fields within the construction and development industries that gave me a broad understanding and view of every aspect of the construction and development process. Now, with more than 30 years of construction and development experience in both executive and field positions, my decision-making skills have developed and evolved by gaining extensive knowledge over the years. The more I learned and the more exposure I had in the industry, the more confident I became in my decision-making skills. I have experience in construction management, design, entitlement, permits and asset management of large projects across many markets in Israel and the United States. Having the understanding and familiarity with various aspects in the development process has helped me in the decisions I make as a developer.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am partner and CEO of 280 E Palmetto Park Road, LLC, the developer of Glass House Boca Raton. I have experience developing high-end condominiums from the ground up, and the most exciting part for me is turning a dirt lot into a beautiful structure that people will call home. I enjoy being involved in all the details from how the building will look to how people will utilize it.
The project I’m currently working on, Glass House Boca Raton, is special in that it’s the first modern glass building in downtown Boca Raton. It offers 28 gracious two- to four-bedroom luxury residences. There is a premier rooftop pool oasis that offers beautiful ocean, Intracoastal Waterway and golf course views as well as private cabanas, Jacuzzi, fire pit, outdoor catering kitchen with a BBQ, and lush landscaping. The first floor includes a state-of-the-art fitness center with outdoor turf lanes, sauna, steam room, and a plunge pool. There is also a residents-only “Palmetto Lounge,” which will offer demitasse and a tranquil space to meet privately.
We’re really excited about our partnership with The Boca Raton (formerly Boca Raton Resort & Club); we are offering a limited number of preferred membership opportunities to owners at The Boca Raton, subject to availability. Glass House also offers owners complimentary annual memberships at emergency medical concierge, Sollis Health, subject to availability. Pricing at Glass House ranges from $2.6 million to more than $7 million. I’m very proud to work on this development with our team of local visionaries including Garcia Stromberg, GS4, Concierge Property Solutions and KAST Construction. Douglas Elliman Development Marketing is the exclusive sales and marketing team for the project.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Attention to detail with a big picture view; think and study first, speak second; and honesty and loyalty. My advice is to be willing to work hard, never stop learning, and walk into the room with a good understanding of the other side’s situation. Be creative, nimble and always think about how you can make 1+1=3 without hurting others.
Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
I learned the most from my superiors, peers and colleagues over the years. I adopted certain skills and qualities from them that I liked and that seemed to work, and I also learned what not to do and what does not work.
