Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Taylor Pachuca-abeyta. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Taylor, thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?
I keep it alive by having fun. It’s not something I’m naturally good at, but my husband Bruno is the best at it. He makes space for time to just enjoy our family, whether that’s an outing or just a night of playing music together at home. The flow of creativity I think stems from living your every day, ordinary life and choosing to find beauty in it. The awe struck, in-your-face inspiring moments are few and far between, but you can choose inspiration from the mundane and I think that’s what it’s about.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
We are a wedding and event planning company with the intention of bringing true hospitality back to the industry. When you work with us you gaining a more enjoyable wedding planning experience, free of the stressful and worrying aspects. We take pride in being personable, maintaining a can-do attitude, and not just offering a service, but an experience. This year I was able to go full time into my business after just 5 short months of starting! The response from brides has been overwhelming. With this growing into more than I originally imagined, I look forward to bringing on more planners, creating consultation services and whatever other services brides are needing!
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back I have to credit working with my church for a lot of my skill sets! I couldn’t see it at the time, but looking back I watch myself developing people management skills after managing teams of volunteers, business administration from running the books and obviously event planning from planning their events! Those have been a game changer. For others wanting to develop themselves I would advise to get involved as a volunteer first in your desired skill, learn the trade and if you love the work so much you are happy doing it for free, it’s definitely something to chase after.
How would you describe your ideal client?
I love working for brides who have a kind heart, I can see how much they love their fiancé and are big type A women! The type A helps me do the actual work I need to get done effortlessly, the kindness helps us build a friendship that outlasts just their wedding day, and seeing a couple truly in love makes me feel like I’m giving my time and efforts to their forever.
