Meet Sherry-ann Zepherin

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sherry-ann Zepherin. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Sherry-Ann , really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

There was a time in my life when I felt a deep sense of discontentment. I wasn’t happy with where I was, and I couldn’t shake the feeling that there was more to life than what I was experiencing. In the midst of that dissatisfaction, I began to pray and seek God earnestly, asking Him to reveal my purpose. I didn’t know it at the time, but God was already at work, preparing me for something greater.

During that season, I started having recurring dreams—vivid and unforgettable. In these dreams, I would find myself standing on a stage. Yet, something was always incomplete or missing. Sometimes, I didn’t have the right shoes; other times, I was missing a gown, or I simply wasn’t ready to showcase the talent I was meant to present. At first, I didn’t fully understand the meaning of these dreams. But as they continued, it became clear: God was showing me that I was in a season of preparation.

These dreams weren’t just random occurrences—they were messages from God, teaching me patience and revealing that there was work to be done before I could fully step into my purpose. The missing elements in the dreams symbolized the areas in my life that needed growth, refinement, and equipping. It wasn’t about being perfect; it was about allowing God to shape me for what was to come.

As the dreams persisted, I felt an undeniable pull toward spiritual growth. I began to binge-watch sermons, devouring the Word of God and immersing myself in teachings about faith, purpose, and destiny. I craved a deeper understanding of who God is and what He was calling me to do. My prayer life deepened, and I found myself drawn to spiritual disciplines that nurtured my soul and strengthened my connection with Him. I no longer wanted to remain in a state of discontentment; I wanted to align myself with God’s will for my life.

Looking back, I can see how God was orchestrating everything. Those dreams were a gift, a way for Him to show me that while I wasn’t ready yet, He was preparing me all along. Each moment of prayer, every sermon I watched, and every step I took toward Him was part of the process. It was in this season of preparation that I realized purpose isn’t something we stumble upon by chance—it’s something we grow into, step by step, as we yield to God’s guidance and trust His timing.

God’s revelation of my purpose wasn’t immediate or easy, but it was transformative. He took my discontentment and used it to draw me closer to Him. He gave me a vision of what could be, but He also reminded me of the importance of preparation and obedience. Even now, I continue to trust Him as I walk this journey, knowing that He will bring everything together in His perfect time.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

1. Faith and Spiritual Sensitivity
The foundation of my journey has been my faith in God and my sensitivity to His voice. Learning to trust Him completely, even in uncertain seasons, has been life-changing. My ability to discern His guidance—whether through dreams, prayer, or Scripture—has shaped every step I’ve taken. Staying rooted in my faith has given me clarity, strength, and direction when challenges arose, reminding me that preparation is just as important as purpose.

2. Perseverance and a Willingness to Learn
The ability to persevere through difficult seasons and remain teachable has been vital. When I wasn’t content with where I was in life, instead of settling, I chose to seek answers, pray, and immerse myself in spiritual growth. This hunger for learning, whether through studying the Word, listening to sermons, or gaining wisdom from others, became a driving force. It taught me the importance of preparation and the value of embracing growth, even when it’s uncomfortable.

3. Communication and Influence
As a spiritual life coach, author, and social media influencer, I’ve learned the importance of effectively communicating God’s message with love, clarity, and authenticity. Understanding how to connect with people—whether through writing, speaking, or social media—has allowed me to reach hearts and inspire others. The ability to articulate my message and make spiritual truths accessible to others has been a key part of my calling to teach, guide, and win souls for Christ.

These three qualities have worked together, helping me stay grounded in my purpose while equipping me to serve others effectively. They’ve also taught me that God uses every experience—good or challenging—to shape us into vessels for His glory. What about you? Are there qualities or skills you feel have been central to your journey so far.

If you’re early in your journey and want to develop or improve on the qualities, skills, or knowledge that can help you fulfill your purpose, here’s some practical advice:

1. Strengthen Your Faith and Spiritual Sensitivity
Build a Consistent Prayer Life: Set aside time daily to pray and connect with God. Prayer is your direct line to hear from Him and align yourself with His will.
Dive into the Word: Read and study the Bible regularly. Start with passages that address identity, purpose, and faith, such as Jeremiah 29:11, Proverbs 3:5-6, and Romans 8:28. Let the Word guide your decisions and actions.
Practice Listening: Cultivate a habit of stillness and listening during prayer. God speaks in many ways—through Scripture, dreams, other people, or even your circumstances. Be attentive to His voice.
Surround Yourself with Godly Counsel: Connect with a mentor, pastor, or spiritual community that can provide guidance, encouragement, and accountability as you grow.

2. Develop Perseverance and a Willingness to Learn
Embrace the Process: Understand that preparation takes time. Don’t despise small beginnings or moments when progress feels slow. These are often the times God is shaping your character.
Stay Curious: Be hungry to learn, whether it’s through sermons, books, podcasts, or conversations with others. Seek wisdom from those who’ve walked similar paths and can offer guidance.
Be Patient with Yourself: Growth is rarely linear. Give yourself grace when you stumble, and view setbacks as opportunities to learn and grow rather than failures.
Adopt a Growth Mindset: View challenges as opportunities to build resilience and deepen your trust in God. Remember, He works through your struggles to prepare you for what’s ahead.

General Tips for All Areas
Stay Rooted in Prayer: Before pursuing any improvement, ask God for wisdom, clarity, and direction. Invite Him into every area of your growth.
Surround Yourself with Support: Build relationships with like-minded people who inspire and challenge you to grow.
Set Realistic Goals: Break down your personal development into manageable steps. Celebrate small victories along the way.
Be Open to God’s Timing: While you work on developing these qualities, trust that God’s timing is perfect. Don’t rush the process—let Him guide you.

Ultimately, growth in these areas requires both intentional effort and surrender to God’s leading. Trust that He has equipped you with everything you need to succeed and that He will continue to shape you as you walk in obedience to His will. Stay faithful, keep learning, and step forward with confidence, knowing He’s with you every step of the way.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?

The journey to overcoming challenges and developing essential skills, qualities, and knowledge has been profoundly shaped by several key influences in my life. Each one has played a unique and invaluable role in helping me grow, both spiritually and personally:

1. God as My Ultimate Source of Strength and Wisdom
Without question, my relationship with God has been the most transformative. He has been my anchor, guiding me through difficult seasons and revealing His purpose for my life. Through prayer, the Word, and the gentle promptings of the Holy Spirit, He has provided wisdom, clarity, and encouragement when I needed it most. It is His grace that has equipped me to face challenges and continue to grow into the person He’s called me to be.

2. Spiritual Mentors and Teachers
God has placed incredible mentors in my life—pastors and spiritual leaders—who have poured into me and helped me develop the qualities I needed to succeed. These individuals have shared their wisdom, held me accountable, and reminded me of my potential when I felt discouraged. Their insights, teachings, and personal experiences have been instrumental in shaping my path.

Watching and learning from these mentors has shown me how to lead with humility, communicate with impact, and stay grounded in the Word.

3. Books, Sermons, and Resources
I’ve gained tremendous knowledge and perspective from reading books by spiritual leaders, listening to impactful sermons, and studying resources that have deepened my understanding of God’s Word and my calling. Authors, pastors, and influencers whom I may never meet in person have profoundly shaped my growth through their teachings and testimonies.
They’ve provided tools and strategies that I’ve applied in my own life.

4. The Challenges Themselves
While not a person, the challenges I’ve faced have been some of my greatest teachers. Through difficulties, I’ve learned resilience, perseverance, and reliance on God. I’ve come to see obstacles as opportunities for growth and preparation, knowing that God uses every season—good and bad—to equip us for the next step. These challenges have refined my faith and sharpened my skills in ways I couldn’t have achieved otherwise.

5. My Audience and Community
As a spiritual life coach, author, and influencer, the people I’ve been called to serve have been a significant source of inspiration. Their questions, feedback, and journeys have challenged me to grow and pushed me to dig deeper into my calling. Serving others has taught me to be more compassionate, patient, and intentional in everything I do.

These individuals and influences have collectively helped me overcome challenges, build essential skills, and grow into the person God has called me to be. It’s a reminder that success is never a solo journey—it’s shaped by the people and experiences God places in our path. Each has left a mark on my life, and I am deeply grateful for their role in my journey.
