Meet Aj Brown

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Aj Brown. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

AJ, thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?

I keep my creativity alive by staying curious and open to new experiences. I draw inspiration from the world around me—whether it’s through reading, running, watching great TV shows, or diving into conversations that challenge my perspectives. My content creation as a social media influencer pushes me to think outside the box, but I also make it a point to consume content from others, not to compare, but to learn and spark new ideas.

I remind myself to take breaks when I feel stuck. Creativity flows best when I’m rested and not forcing it. Journaling, brainstorming, or even just stepping away to enjoy nature or sports can reignite that spark. Finally, I keep my goals and audience in mind— knowing who I’m creating for and the impact I want to have helps me stay motivated and inspired.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

As a social media influencer and content creator, I specialize in producing authentic, engaging content that resonates with my audience, particularly young men aged 18-30. My platform is built on providing value—whether it’s through relatable lifestyle insights, self-development tips, or partnering with brands that align with my audience’s needs and interests.

What excites me most about what I do is the opportunity to inspire and connect with people on a deeper level. Content creation is more than just posting—it’s about storytelling, sharing experiences, and sparking conversations that can motivate or positively impact someone’s life. I love the challenge of balancing creativity with strategy, ensuring that every piece of content is not only visually appealing but also meaningful.

Right now, I’m focused on expanding my reach and diversifying my content. I’ve recently launched my YouTube channel, which allows me to delve into longer, more personal formats, giving my audience a closer look at who I am and what I stand for. I’m also working on collaborations with brands that truly align with my values, ensuring my content stays authentic and beneficial to those who follow me.

Ultimately, my goal is to build a platform that inspires growth, confidence, and success—whether that’s through sharing practical advice, entertaining content, or encouraging others to embrace their potential. Stay tuned, because there’s so much more to come!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, I’d say the three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are self-awareness, discipline, and adaptability.

1. Self-Awareness: Understanding who I am—my strengths, weaknesses, values, and passions—has been foundational. It’s helped me stay authentic in my content, make intentional decisions, and connect with my audience in a genuine way. For anyone starting out, I’d suggest spending time reflecting on your “why.” Ask yourself what truly motivates you and what you want to bring to the world. Journaling or seeking feedback from trusted people can also help you build a strong sense of self-awareness.

2. Discipline: Success doesn’t happen overnight, and discipline is what keeps you going when motivation wanes. For me, staying consistent in my work, even on days when I didn’t feel like it, has been a game-changer. My advice? Build routines that support your goals. Set small, achievable targets, and celebrate progress along the way. Remember, it’s the small, consistent actions that lead to big results over time.

3. Adaptability: Life and careers rarely go as planned, so being flexible and open to change has been key. I’ve had to learn new skills, pivot strategies, and embrace opportunities that I didn’t initially expect. For those early in their journey, I’d say: Don’t get too attached to one path. Be open to learning, experimenting, and evolving. The more you embrace change, the more resilient and creative you become.

Above all, stay patient and persistent. Growth takes time, but if you focus on building these foundational qualities, you’ll be better equipped to navigate the ups and downs and make the most of your journey.

If you knew you only had a decade of life left, how would you spend that decade?

One of the challenges I’m currently facing is resisting the urge to move at the pace of others. In today’s world, it’s easy to feel like you’re falling behind when you see others achieving milestones or making progress faster than you. As someone who’s ambitious and goal-oriented, I sometimes catch myself comparing my journey to theirs and feeling pressure to speed things up to “keep up.”

What I’m learning, though, is that comparison is a distraction. Everyone’s path is different, and moving at my own pace allows me to stay authentic, focused, and aligned with my purpose. Rushing just to match someone else’s timeline often leads to burnout or decisions that aren’t true to me.

The key for me is reminding myself to stay in my lane. I reflect on how far I’ve come, focus on the small, meaningful steps I’m taking, and trust that as long as I’m putting in consistent effort, I’ll get to where I’m supposed to be in due time. It’s not about how fast you move; it’s about moving with intention and integrity.
