We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Flora Singh. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with FLORA below.
Hi FLORA , so excited to talk about all sorts of important topics with you today. The first one we want to jump into is about being the only one in the room – for some that’s being the only person of color or the only non-native English speaker or the only non-MBA, etc Can you talk to us about how you have managed to be successful even when you were the only one in the room that looked like you?
Being the only one in the room isn’t new to me—it’s been a recurring theme in my life. Growing up, there weren’t any golden opportunities waiting for me. No platforms, no open doors. Everything I’ve achieved has been the result of grit, determination, and, above all, the undeniable hand of God. When I lacked credentials or connections, I leaned into faith, trusting that His purpose would guide me.
There were many moments when I looked around and thought, How did I end up here? I’ve stood on ministry stages with leaders who’ve shaped nations, strategized with millionaire executives, shared conversations with individuals from underserved communities, and spoken alongside global CEOs—all as an African-American woman without the “right” degrees or pedigree. From the most challenging neighborhoods to the most prestigious boardrooms, I’ve come to see every opportunity as more than just a chance. It’s an assignment. I wasn’t placed there to blend in—I was called to stand out, to bring value, and to leave a lasting impact.
The parable of the talents in the Bible is a reminder I carry daily: when God entrusts you with an opportunity, it’s your responsibility to multiply it. No matter the setting—whether I’m engaging with underserved individuals seeking hope, strategizing with executives from Apple or Rolls Royce, or speaking with prime ministers—I approach every interaction with the same commitment to plant seeds of purpose and transformation. I’ve learned to adapt my approach to suit the room while staying grounded in my values. Whether I’m sitting with global leaders or walking alongside someone in need, my success comes from showing up authentically, prepared, and with a heart to serve.
My journey is proof that being an outcast by the world’s standards doesn’t define your worth. I often say, I’m just a nobody who became somebody in the kingdom of God, and that’s enough for me. What matters most is showing up, speaking up, and ensuring I leave behind a positive return on God’s investment in me.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Thank you for this opportunity! I’m Flora Singh, originally from Plainfield, New Jersey, and my journey has been one of rising above the odds. As a child, I faced rejection, abuse, and challenges that could have defined my future. Instead, I chose to defy the statistics, lean into my faith, and embrace my God-given potential. From a young age, I’ve had an entrepreneurial spirit and a deep passion for giving back to my community.
Professionally, I’ve worked for Fortune 500 companies, shaping call centers and developing leadership teams globally. These experiences honed my skills in leadership, mentorship, and creating meaningful connections. Today, I channel that passion through my role as Founder and CEO of Singh Tours International, a luxury travel agency dedicated to crafting transformative experiences. For me, travel is about more than destinations—it’s about connecting people to the world and unlocking their potential. Whether it’s destination weddings, corporate retreats, or group getaways, Singh Tours helps people thrive and grow.
I’m also the Founder of Flowitme, a business development and empowerment platform. Flowitme exists to help people discover their dreams, break through barriers, and step into their purpose. One of my proudest moments was helping a young single mother from an underserved community turn her talent into a thriving business. Through Flowitme, she gained the tools and confidence to support her family and succeed. Another highlight has been mentoring travel agents who started with limited industry exposure and are now thriving professionals making a global impact.
At the heart of everything I do is the belief in opening doors for others. Whether someone is a corporate executive or from an underserved community, I approach every opportunity with the same passion and commitment to make a difference. Titles and accolades are wonderful, but they mean little if they don’t serve a greater purpose. My mission is to shine where it’s needed most, push boundaries, and create lasting change.
Looking ahead, I’m thrilled about several upcoming projects:
- Nonprofit Organization Launch: In 2025, I’ll be launching a nonprofit focused on development programs for underserved individuals and communities, providing them with resources to thrive.
- International Job Fairs: These events will connect top talent with quality companies, bridging gaps and fostering professional growth.
- Holistic Retreats and Coaching Expansion: We’re introducing transformative retreats and expanding Flowitme to offer coaching services and resources designed to empower individuals to build and scale their dreams.
- Documentary Release: My life’s journey will be showcased in a highly anticipated documentary produced by We Are the Rare Productions in California.
- Book Release: In April 2025, I’ll release a deeply personal book sharing my life’s story—a testament to resilience, faith, and rising above the odds.
What excites me most about this journey is the opportunity to serve and empower. Whether I’m creating luxury travel experiences, coaching entrepreneurs, or launching community programs, my goal is to help others discover their greatness. Every opportunity I’ve been given is one I’m determined to multiply, leaving behind a legacy of growth, service, and impact. I invite you to join me on this journey. Together, we can create platforms that inspire, transform, and empower lives.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
When I reflect on my journey, three qualities stand out as absolutely essential: resilience, adaptability, and a purpose-driven mindset. These aren’t just traits I’ve picked up along the way—they’re the foundation for how I’ve navigated life, pursued purpose, and created impact.
Resilience
Life hasn’t always been kind or fair, but resilience has been my anchor through it all. When doors closed or challenges felt insurmountable, I leaned into my faith and determination to keep moving forward. Resilience is like a muscle—it grows stronger when you face challenges head-on. My advice for anyone starting out is to embrace discomfort and see it as an opportunity to grow. Growth rarely happens in easy places. Identify your “why”—the deeper reason that drives you—and let it fuel you when life tests your resolve.
Adaptability
If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that the path to success is rarely a straight line. Opportunities often look different than what you expect, and being able to pivot is critical. I’ve walked into rooms where I didn’t have the perfect credentials, but I was prepared in spirit, willing to learn, and unafraid to try. For those just beginning their journey, I encourage you to stay curious, flexible, and open to learning. Don’t be afraid to step outside of the box you’ve created for yourself—sometimes, the greatest growth comes from trying something completely new.
Purpose-Driven Mindset
This has always been my compass. One of the most impactful moments in my journey was when I worked with a young single mother from an underserved community. She had talent and potential but lacked resources and confidence. Through coaching and mentorship, I helped her launch a thriving business that now supports her family. That experience reinforced my belief that when we align our actions with purpose, we can transform lives—including our own. Whether I’m working with individuals from underserved communities or sitting at the table with global leaders, I approach every opportunity with a heart to serve and a commitment to make a difference. Focusing on helping others succeed multiplies your impact in ways you can’t imagine. My advice is to lead with humility and authenticity. Don’t just ask what you can gain—ask what value you can bring. When you align your work with a higher purpose, opportunities will find you, and your legacy will be far greater than personal success.
For those at the beginning of their journey, I encourage you to intentionally embrace these qualities. Resilience will keep you standing when the storms come. Adaptability will open doors you never expected. And a purpose-driven mindset will guide you toward a mission that far surpasses personal ambition.
Remember, success isn’t about where you start—it’s about how you rise. You don’t need perfect credentials or a flawless plan. What you need is faith, courage, and the willingness to keep showing up. When you stumble, let the lessons strengthen you. When you succeed, use your platform to lift others higher. You were created for greatness, and the world is waiting for the unique impact only you can make. Step boldly into your purpose—you already have everything you need within you.
Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
Absolutely! The Bible has been the cornerstone of my personal and professional growth. Its timeless wisdom has shaped my character, guided my decision-making, and inspired me to persevere through life’s challenges. Here are some verses that have been especially impactful:
- Character: “The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.” (Proverbs 11:3) – This reminds me to always lead with integrity, whether in life or business.
- Relationships: “Do to others as you would have them do to you.” (Luke 6:31) – A profound principle that governs how I treat clients, colleagues, and loved ones.
- Purpose: “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.” (Proverbs 16:3) – This verse has taught me to align my goals with a higher purpose and trust the process.
- Perseverance: “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” (Galatians 6:9) – A constant source of encouragement when the road feels tough.
- Faith: “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” (Hebrews 11:1) – A reminder to trust God, even when the path ahead isn’t clear.
In addition to the Bible, several other books have played a pivotal role in shaping my journey:

These agreements have helped me build stronger relationships and maintain peace both professionally and personally.
- Atomic Habits by James Clear

This book challenged me to approach leadership with courage and vulnerability. My favorite lesson: “Clear is kind. Unclear is unkind.” It’s a call to communicate with clarity and empathy, even during difficult conversations. - The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey
This classic offers a framework for personal effectiveness and leadership. The key takeaway: “Begin with the end in mind.” It’s about leading your life and business with intentionality and ensuring every action aligns with your ultimate vision.
Closing Thought
These books, coupled with the eternal wisdom of the Bible, have shaped who I am today. Forgiven Flow holds a special place in my heart because it’s more than a book—it’s a tool for transformation.
