Meet Cecily Witt-muhammad

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Cecily Witt-muhammad. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Cecily, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

I like to say that my purpose found me. In one way or another, I’ve been coaching my entire life. As a teen, I would get accused of “trying to tell everyone what to do”. LOL The truth is, I could see things differently and always wanted to offer a solution. Strategizing has been in me since I was young. That decision-making property has transferred into my careers in education, human resources, and life coaching.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I help professional Black women transform their relationship with money by deconstructing inherited narratives about success, providing emotional and practical support to align their finances with their authentic lifestyle goals, ultimately creating a path to true economic independence and prosperity.

Personal and professional growth give me joy, but talking about money speaks my love language!

The thing I love most about my approach to coaching is, it’s psychological liberation through financial empowerment. I do more than teach financial literacy; I help black women overcome inherited money narratives that cause financial anxiety and limits their potential. The emotional-psychological approach to financial wellness is what makes it so powerful. My clients sign up with me thinking we are going to talk about budgets and spending habits. When they realize, we are going to dive into what they learned about money as a child and they cultural barriers they faced; the lightbulb goes off and the transformation is priceless.

Over the last 90 days, I’ve added the component of leadership coaching to my services suite. I’ve been coaching leaders for the past 16 years; why not add it to my business model. My new tagline is “Meet me at the intersections of life, leadership, and wealth-building. I LOVE IT!!!!

My new coaching framework is called L.E.A.P into Legacy and I am so excited to roll it out, alongside a new membership community in Q2.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

The three qualities that were most impactful on my journey are resilience, intentionality, and love for education. My resilience helped me get up each time I was knocked down, my intentionality helped me to be steadfast in my goal of creating a life that honors me, and my love for education helped me to be open to being a student and a teacher, continually.

My advice to anyone early in their journey is to create your core values and stick with them. Your true values will keep you grounded.

Tell us what your ideal client would be like?

My ideal client is a professional and ambitious black women, 30-55, who is struggling at the intersection of life, leadership, and wealth-building and is looking for sustainable change.

Her characteristics are mid-level profession, coachable, committed, self-aware, emotionally intelligent, and values driven.
