We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Reid Chenault a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Reid, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
I am extremely fortunate to have a family that has been my biggest support system throughout my entire life. Although we faced a lot of adversity at a pivotal moment in my childhood with my parent’s divorce, we held onto each other and knew that this life of ours is so precious that we can find a light even in the darkest times. That moment for me showed me so much about the strength we have within to overcome anything.
When I say our life is so precious, I think about the loved ones and friends that have been taken away from us too soon. We all go through loss in our lives, but the way that we continue to live our life will honor them. Every morning I wake up thankful for another day on this earth. Health and Happiness are the two things that mean the most to me. I try to spread this to all I encounter, as we cannot control the external factors in our lives. Control the controllable’s.

I get to help people with one of the most important things in our lives – Homeownership. Our country has been built by generations and generations of families, and what is the one thing that all of these families have needed throughout their lives? A place to call HOME.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

You have to want to help others! There will always be things that go against you, so seeing through it and knowing your ultimate goal is important. EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT. The way you listen and care for people will go a long way!
Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?
The last 12-18 month’s have been life changing for me. I went through a horrible tragedy in May of 2023 when I lost my mentor/boss. He showed me everything I needed to know about being a better person. To add to the loss, I was stuck at a crossroads professionally. The company I had worked for was no longer in business and I had no idea what was going to happen next. I was fortunate to receive unwavering support from co-workers, family, and friends, and I took a leap to start my own business.
As a business owner, there are always things to learn! Remain humble in the climb. Pay attention to lessons learned and always focus on improving!
