Meet Hatsune Ishihara

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Hatsune Ishihara a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hatsune, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.

I always strive to be the best version of myself and never neglect my daily efforts. I constantly expose myself to new experiences, perspectives, and values to keep updating and improving who I am. I believe that the accumulation of these daily efforts shapes the person I will become in the future. That’s where my confidence and self-esteem come from—through consistent growth and dedication every day.

私は4歳の頃からダンスを始め、今年で18年目になります。今までモダン、コンテンポラリー、バレエ、ヒップホップ、JAZZなど、たくさんのジャンルのダンスをして大会での受賞歴もあります。
ダンスには正解はなく、それぞれの性格や特徴が直接ダンスに現れるので
大好きです。特に私が特別に感じる時は
自分が型にとらわれず好きなように踊っている時です。

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

・好きを突き詰める能力
・幅広いダンスへの知識
・コミュニケーション&自己表現能力
