Meet Christian Leger

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Christian Leger. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Christian, we are so deeply grateful to you for opening up about your journey with mental health in the hops that it can help someone who might be going through something similar. Can you talk to us about your mental health journey and how you overcame or persisted despite any issues? For readers, please note this is not medical advice, we are not doctors, you should always consult professionals for advice and that this is merely one person sharing their story and experience.

I have had many tough struggles mentally over during the time of my business even recently. The thing that continues to drive me is nothing changes if nothing changes. God has been the main factor in continuing my drive but you must take action yourself. Analyzing what IS in my control vs what is NOT has been life changing. Every second, every ounce of energy that you put towards something that is outside of your control is essentially wasted. Deal with what you can control and leave the rest.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I’m a videographer local to the Raleigh area that loves to express/show the beauty of what my clients do through video. Storytelling visually is a great passion of mine and I continue to constantly make improvements to my craft. I always try and establish a personal connection with my clients to ensure they’re comfortable and ready to be filmed in their most relaxed and natural state! A large portion of my clientele comes from the women’s beauty/cosmetic industry, from hair salons to medspas and I am very blessed! Real Estate has propelled me forward in so many ways as well, along with filming bars and restaurants primarily in downtown Raleigh!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Number one is resilience. You must be able to be knocked down consistently and pick yourself back up. No matter the industry or job, there will ALWAYS be hurdles that will set you back.

Number two is a vision. Visualize your goals & achievements and continue to hammer away at them. Whether you’re filming or making sandwiches, visualize the perfect result and strive for it.

Number three is passion. Without passion the other two Areas Of Knowledge are useless. You need the passion for your craft to spark your vision and fuel your resilience.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?

In all honesty for me personally God. I don’t have any words to describe how blessed i’ve been. Day in and day out, whether i’m having the best or worst day it’s all apart of a bigger plan/picture and I am always taken care of due to his Grace. I have recently dove into stoicism as well. The teachings of Ancient Greek Philosophers has dramatically helped build mental strength and recognize what I needed to focus on to improve all aspects of my life in which work is included. It continues to drive me to push myself and focus on constantly improving skills or qualities needed to reach new heights.
