We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Lisa Marie Robinson. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Lisa Marie below.
Lisa Marie, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
I think we are all born with resilience. However, most of us don’t know how to turn inward and really dig deep inside and find it and use it. Most of the time, we listen to all the nay sayers or what society or even our family and friends are telling us. To me, resilience goes along with Grit. And I learned at a young age, that if I wanted to make anything of myself, if I wanted to succeed, I had to dig deep inside and have that Grit and find that resilience to keep moving forward even when it seems like everything is stacked against me. Resilience is all about not giving up, even when others say you should. Resilience is all about turning inward, deep within yourself and putting one foot in front of each other, even if it is at a snail pace. It’s about realizing your worth and ignoring the nay sayers. And it’s something that comes from within.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Here’s a polished and lively response for you:
I’m Lisa Marie Robinson, widely known as the Sassy Wealth Queen, and I’m on a mission to empower high-achieving women entrepreneurs to stand tall on their own two feet and create wealth that aligns with their values and dreams—whether they need to or not. As a Fractional CFO and Wealth Coach, I blend savvy financial strategies with mindset shifts to help my clients create, retain, and expand wealth. But let me tell you, it’s not just about building businesses that rake in cash. It’s about creating a legacy of confidence, independence, and abundance.
What makes what I do so exciting is seeing the transformation in my clients. I get to help them break free from money stress and step into their power. There’s nothing more special than watching a woman realize she’s not only capable of managing her money but thriving while doing it. My work combines heart, strategy, and a bit of sass—because building wealth should feel empowering, not boring or intimidating!
Right now, there’s a lot happening in my world! I’m gearing up to launch a 90-day program designed to help women who are making $100k plug profit leaks, embody my signature Wealth Codes, and build a clear roadmap to 3x their money. I’m also hosting my free Facebook community, the Wealth Queen Collective, where I share weekly trainings and actionable steps to help women create financial success on their terms.
And, of course, my podcast, The Cash & Sass Podcast, is alive and thriving! It’s where we have real, no-judgment “cash-versations” about money mindset, management, and everything in between.
At the heart of everything I do is a deep belief that every woman deserves to live life on her terms, with a bank account and mindset that support her audacious goals.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, I’d say the three most impactful qualities on my journey have been resilience, financial literacy, and courage. Each played a huge role in shaping not just my success but also my ability to help others rewrite their financial narratives.
1) Resilience: Life threw me some serious curveballs—foreclosures, bankruptcy, vehicle repossessions—you name it, I’ve been there. But I refused to stay down. Resilience is about bouncing back and using every challenge as a stepping stone. For anyone early in their journey, my advice is simple: don’t let failure define you. Learn from it, adapt, and keep going. Every setback is just a setup for your comeback!
2) Financial Literacy: Growing up, I wasn’t handed a playbook on money. In fact, I was told I’d always struggle unless I married into wealth. That lit a fire in me to educate myself. I realized that financial literacy is power. Whether it’s learning how to budget, manage cash flow, or invest wisely, understanding your numbers is non-negotiable. My advice? Start with the basics, and don’t be afraid to ask questions. There’s no shame in not knowing—only in refusing to learn.
3) Courage: At 43, I was let go from my job with barely enough money to scrape by. It was terrifying, but it was also my moment to say, “No Plan B, no excuses—this is my time.” Courage doesn’t mean you’re fearless; it means you act despite the fear. If you’re early in your journey, remind yourself that success requires risks. Bet on yourself, even when it’s scary, and surround yourself with people who remind you of your brilliance on the hard days.
For anyone starting out, the key is to stay curious, stay consistent, and stay connected to your why. Every step you take—no matter how small—brings you closer to your goals. And don’t forget to celebrate the wins, big or small. You’re building something incredible, one bold move at a time!

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
One book that has profoundly shaped my journey is “Secrets of the Millionaire Mind” by T. Harv Eker. It’s like a wake-up call in book form—a reminder that wealth starts between your ears before it shows up in your bank account. The mindset shifts it sparked for me were a game changer, and there are a few gems from the book that continue to guide me to this day:
1) “Your income can only grow to the extent that you do.”
This nugget hit me like a ton of bricks. I realized that if I wanted to create a life of abundance, I couldn’t stay in the same place mentally, emotionally, or spiritually. I had to constantly push myself to grow, learn, and step out of my comfort zone. Personal development is an investment that pays the best dividends!
2) “Rich people focus on opportunities. Poor people focus on obstacles.”
This shifted how I approached challenges. Instead of seeing obstacles as roadblocks, I started viewing them as opportunities to grow stronger, smarter, and more resourceful. The key is to ask, “How can I make this work for me?” instead of giving in to excuses.
3) “Rich people play to win. Poor people play not to lose.”
This one challenged me to stop playing small. I had to stop tiptoeing around my dreams and go all in. Playing to win means showing up for yourself with boldness, confidence, and a vision bigger than your fears.
