Meet Marie Nofsinger

We were lucky to catch up with Marie Nofsinger recently and have shared our conversation below.

Marie, so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?

I believe that every day you can reinvent yourself. I also believe that the rough times don’t last forever.

I still get up every day and start by making my bed. I think that starts the motivation no matter how tired I am

or how bad the day before may have been. There is ALWAYS something to be grateful for and always something to

get my engine started, whether it’s cleaning the kitchen, paying bills or taking a ride to the beach to get a breath of

of fresh air!

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I have been a singer/songwriter since my teenage days. I am now enjoying my semi-retirement, but

I am always interested in playing the local festivals and musical events that support local issues.

I have performed in so many places and have enjoyed so many wonderful festivals and have been a constant in a few.

Music always finds a way to bring new friends and new inspiration into my life.

There is a deep longing in my songwriting, to create comfort to others, or to bring an issue to light in a way that will

bring a sense of ” you are not alone” to the listener.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

1. Being driven to write is the strongest of what kept me on the journey. I was fortunate to have a wonderful following and able to keep the calendar full.

2. Being somewhat organized took the most dedication. Setting up gigs, setting up travel itinerary, keeping the bills paid
while doing all of the shows and being on the road.

3. Being able to roll with the punches. If a gig got cancelled, or rained out or you were double booked. Having the emotional temperament to jeep on the journey!

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?

Good question! There is a book that helped me develop a daily routine-sort of a routine-.

Ray Bradbury ” Zen in the Art of Writing”.

I learned to do something every day that had to do with music. It could be reaching out to a radio station, writing a thank you note to a club or a fan. Make a call regarding studio work. EVERY DAY to do something that touched the music.
That doesn’t mean I had to write every day or practice every day- but to do something that involved my music every day.

Where do you get your work ethic from?

We’ve all heard the phrase “work hard, play hard,” but where does our work ethic
