Meet Jocelyn Dejesus Hilario

We were lucky to catch up with Jocelyn Dejesus Hilario recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Jocelyn, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

My resilience comes from knowing no one is coming to do my part. Knowing what I want and working towards the goal is 75% of success. The most rewarding accomplishment are always the ones that take the most work.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I’m a Hispanic woman, that started a family early in life and completed my bachelor’s and master’s degree while also raising my kids. Six years of education, a divorce, a marriage and a new baby later;I am exactly where I want to be in life.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking at the same gains has always helped me accomplish my most difficult goals. Making sure I am connected to God and leaning on him to keep going in the most difficult times. Knowing that God has a greater plan. All the bad in my life turned out to be a good lesson learned. It has made me who I am now.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?

Taking time to get closer to God in prayer has been a game changer in my life. Recognizing what I need to do for myself. When I need a break and when I need to work hard. Taking the time to get to know myself, my wants and needs.
