Meet the founders of Arkive Media Co.

We recently connected with Adriahnna Curry, Cedric Holloway and have shared our conversation below.

Adriahnna Curry, Cedric Holloway, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

Adriahnna Curry: My interest in music and art started in high school—I was always drawn to different types of mediums and felt that even though I was talented artistically and musically, I wanted to be part of the creative world in a unique way. It began with a small blog featuring written interviews with friends in high school and quickly grew as I started meeting other creative people around Florida. That’s when I created Mieux Magazine. After COVID, I decided to pivot toward a stronger focus on visual media, which led to the creation of Arkive. The goal since the beginning hasn’t changed—my purpose is to highlight artists’ stories in ways that are both educational and entertaining.

Cedric Holloway: I discovered my purpose early in life. During my freshman year of high school, I met some rappers who needed a mixtape cover. Since I was taking a Photoshop class, it was a no-brainer for me to help them out. It was an incredible feeling—knowing that I was contributing to an artist’s journey toward their dreams brought me immense satisfaction. This led to more opportunities, from mixtape covers to photoshoots and eventually music videos. It was an avalanche of experiences, and I haven’t looked back since. My life’s work is to help others find ways to turn their dreams into reality. That’s what it’s all about for me.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

Adriahnna: Arkive Media Co. is a digital library that shares the stories of artists through various forms of media such as written interviews, videos, photos, and editorials. We specialize in video production and artist marketing, helping artists promote themselves in ways that feel authentic to viewers by showcasing them in their own element. On our network, we also feature various themed series where we highlight artists and get to know them on a more personal level, beyond their music or art.

Cedric Holloway: We create and produce content that highlights new talent in music and more. What excites us most is blending creativity with strategy to make stories stand out in a crowded digital space. We also help artists become more visible and culturally relevant through tailored marketing campaigns that connect with different audiences. Currently, we’re looking forward to expanding our services and upcoming events that will enhance what we offer. We aim to create memorable experiences through event management and innovative marketing.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Adriahnna: For me, the biggest three things are not being afraid to try something new, being persistent, and remembering why you do it. I used to think I wasn’t artistic because I couldn’t draw, but I didn’t let that stop me from exploring my creativity. When I reached a point in my career where I needed to do everything myself, I started learning new skills like graphic design—creating flyers and set designs for events and photoshoots. Starting Arkive pushed me even further, and I had to learn video editing, which was something I never tried before. Now, I’m able to create animations in AfterEffects, among other things. There’s still so much to learn, but a few years ago, I wouldn’t have believed I’d come this far.

Cedric Holloway: The three skills that have been most impactful in my journey are rolling with the punches, relationship-building, and storytelling. Adaptability of “Rolling with the punches” has helped me navigate my creative journey. It’s full of ups and downs but if you’re always ready to tackle the next problem and turn it into an opportunity you will have a lot of success. Relationship-building allowed me to meet people and form deep connections that opened doors to new opportunities. Lastly, storytelling enabled me to craft compelling narratives that resonate with clients and audiences, driving engagement and growth. For artists and creatives starting out, my advice is to always keep learning, focus on genuine connections, and hone your ability to communicate ideas clearly and passionately. Stay curious, be persistent, and always view challenges as opportunities to grow.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?

Adriahnna: I have to give a lot of credit to my team. Everyone already had years of experience in photography and videography before they joined Arkive, so I’ve been able to learn from them every step of the way. New perspectives, learning editing shortcuts, and constantly challenging myself to improve for them has made a huge difference. Their support and collaboration have kept me going and have brought us to where we are today.

Cedric Holloway: Honestly, the Arkive team. It’s one thing to be a freelancer on your own but being a part of something bigger than yourself adds a whole new perspective. You learn a lot about yourself very quickly when working with a team, good and bad. That feedback loop that we’ve created has helped each one of us push each other to try to be better daily and reach goals we normally wouldn’t. They say “Team work makes the dream work” and yes, it may sound corny but it’s the absolute truth.
