Meet Chrissy Powers

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Chrissy Powers. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Chrissy , thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.

I believe that we don’t actually overcome imposter syndrome we move with it and the negative or self-defeating voice that is “imposter syndrome” gets smaller and less real.

Overcoming imposter syndrome often involves a combination of self-awareness, intentional mindset shifts, and building confidence through action. Here’s how you I have approached Imposter syndrome in my life and work.

1. Acknowledging the Feeling: Recognizing that imposter syndrome is common and doesn’t mean you lack ability or value. This self-awareness is the first step in disempowering it. Utilizing radical acceptance that everyone has an imposter was and is so freeing. You don’t have to “get rid” of imposter syndrome to take risks or follow your dreams you just have to get comfortable bringing it with you.

2. Challenging Negative Thoughts: Through (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). For example, I’ve worked on reframing my thoughts like “I’m not good enough” to “I am constantly growing, my imperfections do not define my worth” and “There is no such thing as failure only feedback.”

3. Celebrating Wins: Taking time to acknowledge your accomplishments, no matter how small, and keeping track of them as evidence of your capability and growth. I love to journal and write down the highlights of my day often. Journaling encourages neuroplasxticity—the brain’s ability to form new neural connections. Reflecting on positive experiences or reframing negative ones helps reinforce healthier thought patterns.

4. Seeking Support: Investing in trusted friends, mentors, and a therapist or coach to process feelings of self-doubt and gain a more balanced perspective has been invaluable to my personal growth.

5. Focusing on Your Values: Shifting my attention from external validation to aligning with my personal values and purpose, helped ground me in why I do the work you do as well as my inherent worth.

6. Taking Imperfect Action: Instead of waiting to feel “ready” or “perfect,” I have taken courageous steps forward, proving to myself that I can handle challenges and grow in the process.

7. Embracing Vulnerability: Sharing my struggles with my community has been a way to connect with others and remind myself that imperfection are part of being human.

8. Practicing Embodiment: Using grounding techniques like nonlinear movement or mindfulness to reconnect with my body and quiet the inner critic.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

Thank you for the opportunity to share more about my story and work! I’m Chrissy Powers, a licensed therapist, embodiment coach, and passionate advocate for mental health and healing. My journey started with a deep desire to help others navigate the painful parts of life, their unique challenges and embrace their authentic selves. This passion has grown into a multifaceted career where I combine therapy, coaching, content creation, healing retreats and creating spaces that guide people toward healing and wholeness.

In my private practice, I specialize in helping individuals and couples work through life’s challenges, whether it’s managing anxiety, healing from trauma, or deepening relationships. One of the most exciting aspects of my work is offering ketamine-assisted therapy, which I’ve found to be a transformative tool for clients dealing with depression, PTSD, or feeling stuck in their healing journey.

I also lead The Embodied Woman Collective, a coaching program designed to help women reconnect with their bodies, emotions, and inner power. This program is a culmination of my professional expertise and personal passion for helping women thrive in every area of their lives.

What makes my work unique is the integration of therapeutic modalities with creative and somatic practices. I believe healing happens when we address the mind, body, and spirit as a whole. Through nonlinear movement, mindfulness, and embodiment practices, I help clients process emotions and trauma stored in their bodies, making space for new growth and wholeness.

On a broader scale, I’m deeply committed to destigmatizing mental health. Through my social media platforms, my Substack newsletter, and public speaking, I aim to make therapy and healing accessible and relatable. I’m not afraid to share my own journey—because I know vulnerability inspires connection and change.

I’m thrilled to share a few exciting projects:

– Women’s Sacred Feminine France Retreat (April 27-May 3rd 2025): I’m hosting a women’s retreat in the South of France focused on embodiment, creativity, and community.

– Paradigm Wellness Collective: I’m launching Paradigm Wellness Collective- a forward-thinking mental health and wellness practice dedicated to helping clients shift the paradigms of their lives through holistic approaches. By integrating therapy and coaching, PWC redefines traditional mental health practices, addressing the interconnected needs of the mind, body, and soul. Our mission is to empower individuals to achieve personal transformation and sustained well-being through innovative, somatic, experiential client-centered care.

– The Embodied Woman Group: We’re diving deeper into chakras and energy work, creating a safe space for women to explore their emotional and physical well-being.

– Ketamine-Intensives: for clients looking for deep, accelerated healing, hosted at the serene Rose Den in Venice, CA.

Whether it’s through one-on-one sessions, group coaching, or my online content, my mission remains the same: to create healing spaces where people feel seen, supported, and empowered to live authentically.

I’m excited to continue growing this work and reaching more people. If you’re curious about therapy, coaching, or just want to connect, I’d love to hear from you!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back on my journey, three qualities and skills stand out as being most impactful in shaping my path: resilience, vulnerability, and a commitment to growth.

1. Resilience
Life and business are full of unexpected challenges, but resilience has helped me push through self-doubt, setbacks, and uncertainty. Growing up, I felt the pressure to be perfect, which taught me how to persevere despite fear or failure. Building my private practice and brand required me to take imperfect action while trusting the process.

Cultivate resilience by embracing failure as a learning opportunity. Surround yourself with a supportive community, and practice self-compassion—it’s okay not to have everything figured out right away. I’m a huge fan of learning along the way.

2. Vulnerability
Sharing my story openly has been a game-changer. It hasn’t been easy but it’s been the best exposure therapy. Vulnerability allows people to connect with you on a deeper level, and it’s been foundational in building trust with my audience and clients. Whether it’s admitting to struggling with imposter syndrome, ADHD, Religious Trauma or sharing my own healing journey, being real has fostered meaningful relationships and a more authentic brand.

Practice sharing authentically in safe spaces first—whether with close friends, a therapist, or a journal. As you build confidence, extend this authenticity into your professional life. People connect with you, not perfection.

3. Commitment to Growth
As a therapist and entrepreneur, I’m constantly learning—whether it’s about new therapeutic techniques like ketamine-assisted therapy, somatic practices, or how to market my services. This mindset of curiosity and growth has kept my work fresh, exciting, and impactful.

Never stop learning. Invest in continuing education, mentorship, and resources that expand your knowledge and skillset. Find a niche or area you’re passionate about and dive deep. The more aligned your growth is with your values, the more fulfilling your journey will be.

If you’re early in your journey, my advice is this: start before you feel ready. Take small, intentional steps and trust that clarity and confidence will come with action. Stay connected to your “why,” be kind to yourself in the process, and don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it.

Success isn’t a straight line—it’s a combination of perseverance, self-awareness, and alignment with your purpose. You’ve got this!

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?

The most impactful thing my parents have ever done for me is provide for me during my formative years with love and emotional attunement. Despite the challenges and complexities of my high-control- religious upbringing, they instilled values and lessons that shaped who I am today. They also sought help for me in elementary school when I was having trouble learning to read. Instead of ignoring my challenges they dove into them with acceptance of love and invested in the proper assessment so I was able to be diagnosed with ADHD in 1988 which was rare for girls in that era. My mother always made me feel proud of having the brain I have even though it worked different than the majority of the kids in my class and my father never allowed me to say, “I can’t”. He believed in me unwaveringly which gave me a foundation of confidence that I feel incredibly grateful for.

From my mother’s nurturing care to my father’s strong presence, their dedication to my family taught me the importance of connection, resilience, and striving for excellence. While the expectations placed on me sometimes felt overwhelming, those experiences fueled my drive to create a life centered on authenticity and healing—not just for myself but for others as well.

Their love, even when expressed imperfectly, gave me the grounding to explore who I truly am and the courage to transform pain into purpose. They have always been open to learning who I am and who I am becoming with curiosity and unconditional love.
