Meet Jesse Greene

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jesse Greene. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jesse below.

Jesse, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
I was struggling to understand how to find a voice and present myself to a broader audience. I always wanted to be in an art show or in a gallery. It was the first MFA show I attended in college that really opened my eyes to the limits I could push myself to with my creativity. It was that night that I found my purpose as an artist.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am a multidisciplinary artist. My mediums are painting, graphic design, video, and photography both analog and digital. My influences and inspirations come from graffiti and street art as well as high fashion editorial and fine art photography. I have learned to master my disciplines and I love that I can not only execute my creative visions individually but I can also combine all these different genres to create a single body of cohesive work. Lately I’ve been experimenting with clothing design, or redesign by combining my skills to create an entirely hand painted collection of garments.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Three skills I would say really benefited me was learning the fundamentals of art as a whole, learning the fundamentals of photography, learning the fundamentals of graffiti art and hip hop, and mastering all these genres over time. I think the most important thing to realize is that you cant give up and you will always have room to learn something new being successful as an artist is a long game.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Yes, right now I’m looking for stylists. People who can provide edgy and unique looks to a shoot or individuals that have a keen eye for high fashion editorial looks. I’m always looking for new and unique faces to shoot as well but Ive done the majority of my own styling and would love to branch out more.
