Gauri , so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

From a young age, I constantly envisioned myself as a successful individual, determined to achieve great things in life. While others around me often told me I was too young to focus on work and should be enjoying my childhood, I knew that pursuing my goals was the path I wanted to take. It was almost as if choosing a different path or prioritizing something unusual was seen as a crime, but I remained resolute.

At just 14, I took the first step toward my dreams by writing my first book, Be.You.Tiful, a milestone I never imagined I would achieve. This accomplishment marked a pivotal moment in my life, proving that I could push beyond self-doubt. Over the next few years, I published two more books—365 Learnings of Life and EPIC UNIVERSE—each reflecting different writing styles, from realistic fiction to motivational lessons and short poetry. Writing became my way of pouring my heart into words, and the recognition and appreciation from readers fueled my passion.

But this was just the beginning. Coming from a business-oriented family, I always harbored the dream of starting my own venture. My fascination with skincare and makeup led me to immerse myself in learning about skin health, the skin barrier, scientifically-backed ingredients, and the benefits of natural elements for the skin. At the age of 18 after a year of market research and two years of intense product development and R&D, I founded my own skincare brand, Raafiaura.

Raafiaura is a premium skincare line that blends the best of science and nature. With over two years of research and development, our products are designed to tackle a wide range of skin concerns while enhancing the texture, health, and resilience of the skin. Each formula combines natural ingredients with skin-friendly compounds to deliver visible, long-term benefits.

Through all of this, I have discovered my true purpose: to explore my passions and interests, break free from societal expectations, and create something meaningful—no matter my age or what others may think. I say it once again like always that “Sky is the limit”.

After more than two years of research and development, we’ve carefully crafted formulas that address a wide range of skin concerns while enhancing the texture, health, and resilience of the skin.

What excites me most about Raafiaura is our ability to offer products that are both effective and eco-conscious. Every product we create is housed in glass bottles, and we exclusively use cruelty-free, PETA-approved materials. Our approach to packaging and formulation reflects our belief that every small action can lead to meaningful impact. If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Reflecting on my journey—from publishing my first book at 14 to launching Raafiaura, my skincare brand—I realize that three key qualities have been most impactful in shaping my journey: determination, self-belief, and continuous learning.

First, determination has been essential. While others told me to enjoy my youth, I was determined to pursue my goals. Writing a book at 14 seemed impossible at times, but my resolve kept me going. This same determination pushed me through the challenges of building Raafiaura, from product development to overcoming setbacks. My advice for those just starting out is to stay focused and committed, even when the path feels tough.

Second, self-belief has been crucial. I often questioned my abilities, especially when I ventured into new territories like skincare. But trusting in myself gave me the confidence to move forward, even when fear and doubt crept in. For beginners, surrounding yourself with supportive people and believing in your own potential are key to overcoming obstacles and achieving success.

Finally, continuous learning has been a driving force. Whether learning about skin biology for Raafiaura or improving my writing skills, I’ve always embraced the need to grow and adapt. Success comes from staying informed and open to new ideas. I have always boosted my journey with optimism and faith. My advice: never stop learning. Whether through reading, courses, or hands-on experience, knowledge fuels growth and resilience.

In conclusion, the qualities that have shaped my journey—determination, self-belief, and continuous learning—are essential for anyone starting their own path. Stay committed, trust yourself, and keep learning. The road to success is a journey, and each step brings you closer to your goals.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?

My Father’s Name is Mr. Nitin Sharma and my mothers’s name is Mrs. Raafi Sharma. In my eyes parents are the ones who can never step back from showering their love for their kids. Today since I got the opportunity to share my experience, I would like to highlight that my parents have always been my unwavering support system, providing me with a foundation of love and guidance from the very beginning at every step. They nurtured me as I grew, and I am incredibly proud and grateful to have them in my life. They’ve played the most significant role in shaping who I am today. My father is the intellect and the strategist, while my mother is the heart and soul of my being. Together, they’ve constantly invested in me, instilling in me strong morals and values that continue to guide my journey.

As I’ve grown older, I’ve come to understand that home is not just a physical space made of concrete and bricks; it’s a feeling of warmth, comfort, and security. My parents have always made me feel that sense of home, no matter where I am. Their love and support have been my true sense of belonging.

I am deeply motivated by the desire to make them proud. Every day, I work tirelessly to ensure that my actions reflect the values they’ve imparted to me. With every sunrise, I strive to live in a way that honors their sacrifices and the love they’ve shown me, and to give back to them the pride they’ve always shown in me.
