Confidence and self-esteem are deeply personal journeys, and for me, they were shaped by embracing my individuality, staying resilient through challenges, and finding purpose in my work. Early in my career, I realized that the fashion industry celebrates diversity, but it also tests your inner strength.
One of the pivotal moments in developing my confidence was learning to view rejection not as a failure but as a stepping stone. Every “no” was a lesson, an opportunity to refine my craft, and a reminder to stay authentic to myself.
I also invested time in understanding what truly made me unique—not just as a model, but as a person. Whether it was through fitness, creative expression, or connecting with inspiring mentors, I focused on building a strong foundation of self-worth that wasn’t dependent on external validation.
Starting my own venture, NYCFASHIONJEWELS, as a founder was a huge confidence booster. It allowed me to channel my vision and passion into something bigger than myself. When I saw how my work inspired others, it reinforced my belief in my capabilities.

What excites me most about what I do is the ability to connect with people and tell stories through fashion and beauty, whether it’s through runway shows, editorial campaigns, brand partnerships, or products that resonate with authenticity.
What makes my brand special is its foundation in celebrating individuality and encouraging everyone to own their unique style and power. We’re currently working on new collections for the year, which reflect timeless glamour with modern fashion-forward luxury. Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back on my journey, I can pinpoint three key factors that had the most profound impact on my path: resilience, adaptability, and self-awareness. These qualities not only shaped my career but also gave me the tools to thrive in the ever-evolving industries of fashion and beauty.
1. Resilience
The fashion and beauty world is full of highs and lows, from exhilarating opportunities to moments of rejection. Resilience helped me stay focused on my goals despite setbacks. My advice for developing resilience is to embrace challenges as learning experiences. Cultivate a mindset that sees rejection is redirection and never stop believing in your potential.
2. Adaptability
The ability to adapt to change has been essential, especially in industries that are fast-paced and trend-driven. Whether it’s keeping up with emerging trends, learning new platforms as an influencer, or pivoting creatively in a project, being adaptable has opened doors I never anticipated. For those starting their journey, I recommend staying curious and open-minded. The more willing you are to step out of your comfort zone, the more you’ll grow.
3. Self-Awareness
Understanding who I am and what I uniquely bring to the table has been pivotal in building a career that feels authentic. Knowing your strengths, passions, and even your limits allows you to make aligned decisions and maintain confidence in your vision.
