We were lucky to catch up with Chenet Lumene recently and have shared our conversation below.
Chenet, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
My entire life, beginning as a teenager-I was trying to find out who I am and whom God has called me to be. Growing up, was never easy, trying to discover my purpose in a world that is lost. In everything I do, I was never able to fit in. Until I was able to enter the house of God, when God found me- I was broken, lost and torn apart. I was torn apart between who I am and who I wanted to be. The day I accepted Christ, that’s when I began to understand who I needed to become and what I truly desire for my life. I discovered my purpose in the most broken part of my life, which was from being homeless and deserted. That’s when I began to understand that everything a person goes through is never in vain, but for a purpose. With that brokenness, I understand my true calling. I, now, became a voice-for the voiceless.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
In ministry, I am a refreshing voice for the brokenhearted, a teacher of the Word of God/ musical artist / director / producer and a business owner. I am an author of 3 well educated books, the brokenness of God: Where destiny is hiding / part2 Discovering Greatness and Obtaining Your Righteousness.. What is exciting is that I love teaching Gods people and my greatest joy comes from just that-uplifting others!
In business, as a film director, I love bringing visions to life and I love the creative aspect of cinematography. Story-telling is one of my favorite parts of producing. Most of all, what’s exciting is creating the suspense for the viewers to follow. As far as editing is concerned, I am able to let my creativity flow-especially when it comes to trailers and commercials. Photography is a part of my work, but I do not consider myself a photographer. I just love the beauty and nature of photography, such as fashion and landscaping. It is not something I would dedicate my life to do, however it is a service I love extending courteously to clients who request it. What’s new is everything. In producing, the possibilities and opportunities are endless. The most exciting part is seeing the excitement and satisfaction of clients with the final product. I always say that it is not about the money but it’s always about bringing joy in someone else’s life-now that’s a purpose!
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Three areas of knowledge that have been and continue to be impactful on my journey are, First and foremost, wisdom. I believe wisdom has been a big part of my growth. Leadership. No one can become anything in life properly, without proper leadership. Last, counsel. Those who want to grow always take heed of wise counsel.
I would advise that there’s nothing new under the sun. If anyone wants to become anything in life, they must follow the principles of others who paved the way before them. No one has ever done it alone without following the blueprint of somebody else. A legacy cannot be established without a proper foundation. Above all, follow the Will of God and you will succeed.
What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?
Understanding Gods Will and His Principles.
